• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BT headset Scala older model Q2 online clearance FYI

Story of my life---

Buy high, sell low! :gaah: I paid $84 more retail in Daytona. The intercom function works very well, as does the bluetooth connectivity with my phone. The FM receiver is only marginal, however. And the MP3 connection gives me about 50% less volume than I'm accustomed to with the same player and earbuds -- virtually worthless at highway speed. Biggest problem for me is the way the Q2 attaches to my Scorpion EXO900 full-face helmet. It's a clamp-on deal held in place by two small allen screws. The Q2 is vulnerable to bumping when putting on/taking off the hat. And the allen screws aren't quite up to the task of holding the unit in place. I now carry an allen wrench for roadside reattachment. All in all I'd give the Q2 4 stars out of 5. It's the only headset I've ever owned so I have no idea how it matches up to the competition.

Just my two copper coins.....:chat:

I have used the Q-2 models for a couple of years now and I have been happy with the performance. The bike to bike feature works very well for me. I have not used the FM radio--much--since it is marginal, and radio reception in AK. is dubious at best anyway when you get away from the population areas. I tried the new Q-4 version when they came out and ended sending them back because they were defective from the start. I also tried and returned a Chatterbox outfit. Still using the Q-2s for the third season now.

Maybe I'm missing something here but, if I'm reading correctly, Newenough has the Q2 listed at $299.00. I'm normally a big fan of Newenough, all the riding gear I own came from them, but new Q2's are available on ebay for $179.00 with free shipping.

My wife and I have used the Q2 strictly as a wireless intercom for about a year and we are completely happy with them. Can't comment on the other functions but the intercom has been flawless.

again not trying to steer business anywhere just an FYI to fellow spyder owners. I have no ties with new enough. just got stuff there before they were good with returns ect.

looks like the link you have is a 2 fer package at the same price as newenough ...

I bought the Gluepad to attach mine. Doesn't work on all helmets. You might try that. I had to get it straight from Cardo.

As I said, maybe I was missing something. I was. You are right. I was looking at the price for the Q2 Multiset which was $299. Didn't even consider the single Q2 or notice that you can buy a pair of them for $159.00 + shipping. I think the only difference would be that the 2 units have been factory paired with the Multiset and, according to reviews, pairing individual units is a snap.

It wouldn't bother me if you were promoting Newenough. They are an excellent company in my opinion. They ship quickly and package well, and, as you said, they have an excellent return policy. I've ordered from them over the net and I've been to their warehouse which is about 200 miles north of me. They don't have a showroom but, if you know what you want to look at, they will bring it out, let you try different sizes or models, and help you find what you need. All their employees that I've dealt with are friendly and knowledgable. You can't ask for much more from a company.

You may also want to consider the SENA SMH10, it has real stereo bluetooth, up to four units can communicate, there's lots of mic/speaker/earbud options and it's easy to use with it's big jog dial.

Test summary quote: "The SMH10 system is my new champion. Even with the Cardo G4 units now in hand, and the F4 Interphone systems headed my way, the Sena system raises the bar to a new height"

Gluepads won't work

The Q2 came with two gluepads. Using them on the Scorpion EXO900, though, interferes with closing the full-face shield. But thanks for the suggestion
