There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Rotax vs Turbo

At 90K miles the Silver Dream original engine failed, burial in the Salt Flat of Bonneville, UT. With the few last compression cycles, in revenge, took with her the Turbo also:

New engine (carefully break-in in Bonneville plus 2,4oo mile ryde to Gatlinburg) and new Aerocharge turbine. :2thumbs: Can't find yet anybody for "performance test"...

What boost were you running when it blew apart?

Do you have the BEST warranty? If you do, was the engine covered under warranty? I ask b/c you said the engine took the turbo out.

I do, but the turbo did cancel the engine warranty...:gaah:

Doc and four of us did some performance testing today on the way to the dragon, at the dragon and on the way to Lamont's.

Oh no, Mister! Yer not getting off that easily! deatails, man! Who won, what manners of disaster did the dragon throw at you? We need stories man! No one does the Dragon without having at least 2 stories to tell. Especially if you are riding with Doc! C'mon, dude, let 'er rip! :D

:D

Well.. It certainly wasn't me. I only get in front of Doc when we work traffic on the way to somewhere ( I like him up front jamming radar ). It wasn't RSHRIMP or Blink either.

Though I must say... Seth and Doc riding formation at high speed on the 4 lane and the Dragon was an interesting sight. Can't wait for Seth to get home and upload his videos. Seth was grinning ear to ear after we ran the Dragon on Thursday... and loved it so much he and Harvey (SpyderPOPS) went down and ran it again. I'll let Seth tell you about that run.:yikes:

So Doc, Seth, rshrimp (Randy), Blink (Bruce) and myself had an epic ride. It was nice to have a group of riders that didn't mind a "little" speed. :D

As far as Doc's Spyder... That thing is a beast. Doc let me take it for a spin today! What an honor! That pipe sounds fantastic, and it is amazing how fast the Tach hits red line and the amount of power it is putting down in the last few thousand of RPM is amazing. I though the clutch was slipping, but it was actually the tire breaking loose as the turbo built boost and that was through 3rd gear... wasn't on the right road for 4th and 5th. Definately would have to change the way you rode your spyder if you got the turbo... You can still putt around, but I think you probably have to develop some level of finesse with the throttle under hard acceleration to keep her planted. It is one quick machine now. Thanks again Doc!

As for the two or three groups of Spyders that were buzzed that day... Whoops!

I am glad Doc was able to get everything taken care of in order to make it to Gatlinburg. It was a great time! Funny thing is there are actually pictures of me on the same page as Doc, but I doubt I was really ever very close to him and Seth. :D

I could also tell from the ryde, and definitely the pictures, that I need a sway bar and to lose some weight.
