• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Leaves already changing in Vermont!

Pat and I took our 2 month old RT-S for it's first REAL ride. Took I91 from Hartford, Ct. up to beautiful SR112 in New Hampshire and headed east to Conway NH on the Kangamagus highway. "Charlotte" performed very well. It was a fantastic trip except for an hour-long embarrasing incident where one of us accidentally hit the emergency cutoff switch at a scenic overlook. :sour: (Did you know that when you do that the oil light stays on when you try to start her up?) (sigh) No cell phone signal either. We thought we were destined for bear food. Checked the oil and fretted about for an hour until an old timer on a new Gold Wing stopped by noticed the switch was flipped. :opps::opps::opps: Since I always leave the switch on it never occurred to me to check. Anyway....moving on......we noticed that the leaves are already turning in parts of Vermont. My favorite season is here! I'm sure we'll be heading back up there in October.

Just my own opinion but, I think you should be using the engine cut off switch to turn your engine off every time so that it becomes habit. Yes, not as important on three wheels as it is on two. But still. It's a good habit to get into.

:agree: it's a very important habit to form. As far as the leaves go, up here in Northern Vermont, if you wait till October, there won't be any.

LOL :roflblack: Been there, done that. Sure gives you that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach when you turn the key ... and nothing happens.

In mid stretch the other day going down the interstate at about 75 I grabbed the cutoff switch and knocked into the off position. For a few seconds till I realized what I did I really had a panic in gear! Flipped it back on and off we went.

By the way here in the hills of WV leaves have started falling but just due to lower temps and real dry weather. There is no color whatsoever so far. Winds the past few days have just about knocked all the leaves off my fruit trees on the slope above the house. I am shaking them and calling the deer in quite regularly. I have a little four point buck who I bet doesn't weigh a 100 lbs! He is already color changed for the winter and lost his velvet too. Bill

Very scary indeed when it wont start for no apparant reason, or it suddenly dies while going down the road. Have not done it on the Spyder yet, but have done it on other bikes. RE: the leaves. Here in Anchorage, Eagle River, AK., the leaves are about 70% yellow and they are coming down heavily in my back yard. The leaves will be mostly gone in 2 to 3 weeks. That is one of the bummer's in Alaska. Short, early fall, and then wait until the 3rd week in May for the leaves to pop out green again. I can still ride till mid to late October, but every day now you can feel the fall chill and know that winter is not too far away. I ride until snow covers my steep driveway and then have to put it away.

Nice. I've been wanting to take my Spyder to see the foliage ... looks like the next few weekends will be the "it" time.

leaves & cut-off...

I've gotten into the habit of shutting down with the cut-off switch... then as soon as the engine dies, I push the switch back to the run position before turning off the ignition key.

I spent the fall and winter of 63-64 in Burlington and loved northern VT. It's a beautiful state.

I've gotten half dozen interested riders together so far for the first weekend in Oct. to take a day trip from CT2MA2NH2VT and back.
