• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyders in the Smokies Rally, who's going?

YIKES! I booked a room for two nights at the Days Inn in Pigeon Forge...what happened there last year that has everyone in a "stay away" mode?

I'll be making the ryde up there on Thursday and should get there in time for Lamonts BBQ :clap:and will be staying until close of business Saturday.

Can't wait to meet all my new friends! :2excited:
Just a lot of Touristas clogging up the streets

Just a lot of Touristas clogging up the streets

Last year seemed like a lot of traffic, a lot of traffic lights, and a lot of road construction. What really seemed to make it worse was coming back after spending hours on nice open roads enjoying the countryside and fresh air and them hit PF, seeing tourist traps and baking at stop lights and getting more than your quota of exhaust fumes.:chill:

Checkin In ...

Irish2theMax, Altonk and I are currently slated to ryde down leaving the MD/VA/WVA ares on the 19th, spending the nite in Roanoke and then arriving G'burg on the 20th. Gonna strive to do BOTH the Dragon and Lamonster's BBQ.

Was just thinking that those of us 'doing both' might want to form a little clutch so we keep each other motivated for the trip n' back from The Dragon, a break back in G'burg ... then the trek out to Lamonster's.

I'll be arriving to G'burg Tuesday-
I'd be interested in Option 2 on Wednesday, but need to check w/ FreeBob to see what his plans were as we were traveling up together. Thursday I was planning a nice leisurely ryde to the BBQ from Gatlinburg taking backroads.

Last year, after finishing the Dragon with WhackyDan and Docduru and several others we took the freeway to Lamonster's. From the frying pan into the fire! I had taken back roads to Gatlinburg from South Carolina so my ryde with those guys was my first time on the Freeway:yikes:

Friday I signed up for the Bush Bean factory tour...Sat. is up in the air

Even if I don't hook up w/ your party I do appreciate the maps!
Hope to meet you this year Irish! Last year I saw your :spyder2: (seems like everywhere) but never ran into you:dontknow:

We are also planning on doing The Dragon run on Thursday. Lamont posted somewhere that if we go to Alcoa Good Times with everyone else after The Dragon, we are only about 75 miles from his place at that point. We should be able to get a good caravan going to the BBQ.

I took a ride out to Deals Gap today and came back on the Foothills Parkway and then Pigeon Forge and it was a drag as always.:gaah: I recommend staying as far away from that place if you can. It was 97 degrees and the light would change 4 times before you got through them. I'm never going that way back again. nojoke

Okay...that settles it. Pigeon Forge is OUT!! Doesn't mean we can't still do Option 1 but we would just retrace the route back...47.8 miles round trip

Paul...this looks like a good option. If the timing is right (They don't say what time they estimate everyone will arrive at Alcoa), I can meet everyone at Alcoa Good Times (regardless of whether I do the National Park run) and we can launch to Lamont's from there.

By the way, my phone number is 304-260-9263. Got yours...I'll call you tomorrow night

Late addition to the crowd, we'll be there. Just amde reservations Red Roof Inn Gatlinburg, thursday thru Sunday. no Lamont BBQ . maybe next year!:2excited:
