• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Michigan to Vermont

Well, a week ago yesterday we returned from a 9 day, 1910 mile trip from Michigan, through the Finger Lakes area of New York, and then on to the BMW RA Rally in Pownal, Vermont.

We put 600 miles on the RT-S in our first week to get the first service out of the way. Then we took off, heading across Ohio on the Turnpike and across parts of Pennsylvania on US-6. If you've never ridden on 6 you're missing a very pretty road with mostly wide sweepers and little towns with personality.

Then it was up to the Finger Lakes for family visits and a couple of days of no riding. Then we crossed NY on Routs 2, another beautiful ride through pastoral scenery, then ending with real twisties and hills as you enter Massachusetts.

Vermont is a great state for motorcycle touring. Despite being close to huge population centers the roads are uncrowded and provide something for every type of rider. Beautiful farm country, little towns, some touristy but some real gems of little villages with general stores/restaurants and little else.

Before I get too wordy I'll just add a couple of words about the pics, below. The first is crossing a covered bridge over the Battenkill River. We found it after a couple of hours of fishing this beautful little trout stream. The second is my lovely better half with our Spyder in front of the general store in Barnard, VT, across the road from a pretty little lake.

No problems! (Until this morning when it became very reluctant to start.)

Sounds like a great trip. I went to the Finger Lakes area last week but had to do it in a pickup. I would love to go back there on the Spyder. the only problem is - so many trips - so little time.
