• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

yay... ah Bummer

I hope you get it back soon! no fun to not have a ride during riding season. I'm very thankful I can be a passenger on HDX's bike. I sprayed fuel all over the driveway on Friday when I was all packed and ready to take a trip. Hopefully only a loose clamp, and I'm glad it happened before I left for the trip. We had to be somewhere at a certain time and had no time to pull it apart and check it so we parked it. I really enjoyed riding w/ HDX but it was unnerving trying to repack in 5 minutes.

We'll check this morning to figure out what it is. If it needs to go to the dealer then I hope I don't have to wait a long time. If it's not something simple, I doubt I'll wanna ride it very far anymore. My friend might have a deal on a cheap bike that someone's wife doesn't want - it might be worth looking into to have a "spare".

I hope your situation is a simple fix!

Sorry for the troubles the both of you are having with your :spyder2: 's.

Are you still going for the meet and greet in Vermont next week ?

No codes showing. It just says "VSS Fault. Check DPS." And "Check DPS" will keep scrolling.
First, a VSS fault can cause the DPS to shut down, so the VSS, or something it relys on, may be your original fault. That could be a sensor issue. To see the active fault codes, you have to bring them up yourself, they do not appear on the screen normally. For the GS/RS, turn the key to "ON", scroll the display using the "MODE" button until the engine hours are displayed, start the engine and run until the "Check Engine" light or fault message is displayed, then press and hold the "MODE" button, while pushing the "FLASH HIGH BEAM" switch five times within 2 seconds, then release all buttons. If there is no currently active fault code "No Active Fault Code" will be displayed, otherwise the fault code(s) will be shown. These can be interpreted by looking in the shop manual or asking here.

I have a guess as to the nature of your problem, which would be due to a common dealer error in DPS installation, but I will reserve judgement until I hear what codes you may have. Keep in mind that BUDS will display occurred as well as active codes, so your dealer can zero in on the problem more quickly. Parts may take longer.

Changed all three relays tonight, added a decent amount of insulation foam to the fuse box. I thought I was doing fine after 35 miles, but no luck. I got another Check DPS message.

I guess it is a call to my mechanic and Carlo tomorrow.

Please pray for me that it does not take another two months to get fixed.

I think its a Crime to wait all that time and its still not fixed!!:gaah:

Hopfully I,ll be getting mine back very soon after 7 weekends without it and I won,t be going far from my house for a few afternoons!:sour:

Unfortunately we can't. Family stuff came up and we are both so swamped at work to take more time off this soon after getting back from being away. We do plan on getting up there at some point in September though! We were going to go to the Killington Classic in Sept. but that is out also - our Sikorsky United Way Ride is that weekend and we'll be riding and working it. If anyone wants to go on the SIK ride, let me know.

Not as big of a ride as the one we just went on but we don't have those nice country roads close to us.

So enjoy your time in VT - one of my favorite places to be!

I stuck a piece of foam between the fuses and the cover to prevent them from coming loose. So far so good!
