Parts on Backorder for more than 2 weeks:

How about starting a thread about parts on back order for recall and other fixes? Lamonster would you be willing to share that with BRP also?

My story is parts for clutch recall ordered on 6/8/2010 by dealer. BRP rep called me 7/2/2010 and said they had just verified with dealer that the parts were there. Dealer says on 7/2 that order not complete, missing some necessary parts. 7/12 talked to dealer and they said BRP keeps pushing out (now 7/28) when they will ship parts to fix this recall. :lecturef_smilie: needed for BRP. thinking that Lamonster you have some clout with them.
If you think this also a good thread to have..keep it going...otherwise let it fade into the sunset!!!

If your Spyder is not down or in the shop because of it what's the point? If it is then post in the thread I just started.

For me, that maybe BRP will recognize that maybe they need to assess how they communicate (fact vs fiction), how maybe they could improve in customer service by delivering parts when they say. All people, individual or corporate, sometimes need to step back and take a review of where are we falling short and how to correct....and most times others input gives a truer picture then what my/their myopic picture is giving...sometimes just to close to the "forest" to see the trees...

I would tend to think your problem is more dealer related than BRP related. Most times that my dealer has said 'such and such a part' is on B.O. , etc.... I've been able to find the part online and get it within 2 days.

I've had great luck with robsperformance.com and hondaeasttoledo.com for such things--- they either stock a lot or have better access to parts(maybe they don't wait to group your order with a bunch of other parts like some dealers will).

I would try to order the part yourself through someone else (call and see what they say on delivery) -- take the part to your dealer-- have them do the fix and credit you for the part.

Here's one problem we run into all the time with our company. We deal with suppliers that make us a promised delivery date on a product. Our customers want to know when the part they ordered will be in so we give them the date we were given. When that date comes and goes we're the bad guys. I know that most of the backordered parts from BRP are not in house parts.

The other issue that I know of first hand and I'm not saying this is your situation but sometimes the dealer is not honest about when or if they ordered the parts. BajaRon and I had a dealer that kept telling us the GPS was on backorder and that's why our bikes were down. I made some phone calls and found they were good in stock and had been for a while. I confronted this dealer and they looked it up while I was standing there and sure enough there were over 200 in stock.

Bottomline is nobody wants backordered parts, everyone wants it now from BRP on down the line to the end user. How to make that happen is the trick. Doing things in house is one of the best ways to control backorders.

Great suggestions: I will start down that path...I am determined to get all my "fixes" done...thanks for the input.

clutch parts

I had the same problem - only found a way to solve it -Call another dealer if you can. The dealer where I bought my RT still has me "on the list" for the "back-ordered" parts. I called another dealer, got an appointment, took it in and - get this - they only kept it 2 hours!! I was amazed. I was afraid they wouldn't be all that interested in providing service since I didn't buy it from them.
My first service with the dealer where I bought it took 5 days:gaah: - guess they were busy reading the book,
It certainly sounds more like a dealer problem. I sure hope you get it solved and get out there ryding!

MFA..... Market Feedback Analysis... We do that for just about everything where I work. I've gotten alot of them lately outside of work. Just had my car serviced at a different dealer - IMMEDIATELY they call me and ask for my feedback.

That is how companies can take a good look on how they are doing w/ their customers. We have internal customers in here - my dept has a ton of them. MFA - a good way to find out how you're doing.
