• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I still think we can make the spyder look better with a different front. Im tired of being referred to as a snowmobile on wheels or a HIPPO.

Embrace that distinction...it's a badge of honor. 100% of snowmobilers are considered the "good people" in this world.

;)
I kind of like the Snowmobile look, besides it makes a great conversation piece. When i first got my Spyder two years ago a lot of people would ask me if that was a snowmobile with wheels, I tell them yep i put the ski's back on when it snows.:D I bought it because i liked the way it looked and until somebody else pays for it that's all that counts.:ohyea:

In my part of the country, it's a jet ski on wheels. It's my jet ski, though and I've never, never had someone tell me it looks bad, funny or any other kind of "fightin' words".

Unique is a good thing....................

I've always thought the Spyder looks best from the sides or the rear... so I get what you're saying about the front---- but without ditching the trunk I'm not sure what kind of look you can get that isn't 'snowmobilish'.

I doubt most would give up their trunk space... I know I won't.

You need another hobby or something else to occupy your time! :D So, THAT many people are making you feel uncomfortable?

I like the front end look just the way it is... Why try to make it look like anything other than what it is? I think brp did a awesome job for a 1st year offering. Did they get everything right? NOPE.. but a really great start on a great (looking and performing) veichle. :2thumbs:

This frontend won the prize...

At the Red Carpet Ryde Owners event in L.A. last June, this woman won the most customized Spyder prize. I kinda like the Can-Am (race car) look.

I always get " did you bring the sled in". I LOVE the look from the rear and side. The front could look a little better. I think my Cal-si windshield makes it look tall and narrow which I don't like. But overall awesome looking ride.

I like the "snowmobile" image. Today our heat was 99 degrees - heat index of 105, so I can fantasize about riding a snowmobile on such days and I instantly feel cooler :doorag:

Another case of mind over matter, that is if you don't mind it don't matter. :D

I think you're asking the wrong question.... It should be...

We sled so to us it's a perfect reminder of what's next when we put the Spyder away. We like the looks !

When people ask me why does it look like a snowmobile. I answer that in the winter I take off the front wheels and put on the ski's that came with it and change the back tire to ride in the snow. That throws a lot of people for a loop trying to figure that out.
