Just got a bit of information on my spyder. Thank God for warranties. Cost to date for my recent problems? $3,100.00. My cost. Zero.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.
Thank God for warranties.

I'm glad you are still enjoying your spyder.

20 warranty repairs, 1000 hours, 36000miles.
warranty repairs probably cost half the price of spyder by now, probably more.
ryde on spyder, still priceless:thumbup:

Man I hear ya. I just got mine june 1st. I have 1133 miles on her now! I got a 2010 RS-S. I'm told it's the first one in Northern California. I don't know how true that is, but it doesn't really matter. I'm lovin it!
When I took it in for its 600 mile service, the mechanic came to me and said the clutch needed to be replaced. Apparently there is a service bulletin out on this issue. It's not a fatal thing, but it made me a little uneasy. It's brand new and already a bad clutch? The replacement is on order. Meanwhile, I'm still riding. Turns out they put a '09 piece in there because it was an early production run. The 2010 part will fix the issue. I'm just glad he caught it; I thought it was just me!

Just bought AFTERMARKET warranty.
After hearing all the horror stories by MANY people on this forum about experiencing problem after problem, I decided to invest in an aftermarket service contract.
I bought my bike used with the warranty expired. I reached out to BRP to see if they would extend the factory warranty and they said no way.
I then reached out to a dealer I know and they offered a bike service contract called the "XtraRide Powersports" contract from a company named Protective. Has anyone ever heard of this company??????
I have no clue :dontknow: if it is going to be worth it or not but I feel a lot better knowing that I have something to fall back on if anything goes wrong.
Anyway, I will let everyone know if I need to use the contract and how it goes.

The only one that has been recommended through this site, that I have read about, is the B.E.S.T. extended warranty....

Yes I have seen that one but I thought you could only get that one THROUGH BRP and it had to start at the end of the factory warranty.. I may be wrong.:dontknow:
