There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Help find a bearing !!

My Spyder is down and found what my delay is, in need of a bearing part #420832144 it is on back order till 5/7/10, which means dealer would be lucky to have it 5/12/10. With assembly time the earliest I would get her back would be 5/17/10. I feel this is a bit ridiculous it is just a bearing if anyone has any idea how to find the bearing specs I could easily obtain a bearing weds. or thurs. If anyone can translate BRP part # to a bearing size or even better, a bearing number (ie;6205 2rs) any help appreciated, I have 3 sources for HQ bearings just need to know what the bearing is. Even a phone # to BRP for a parts analyst would be a big help.

Thanks

It's a $15 bearing that's on the backside of the output shaft. I can find it everywhere in the parts fiche but not a size. Can they get anything off the old bearing?

If you can, get the tech to look for standard numbers on th ebearing, or measure it carefully with a vernier caliper. You will also need to know if it is sealed or shielded on one side or both. Your local bearing supplier should be able to take it from there. Not sure if BRP would allow warranty replacement with a non-BRP part, however.

They could only get measurements, bearing is destroyed, could measure but we don't know how it is shielded or caged so I don't want to guess on the style of bearing.

Thanks these are the numbers I'm looking for, not to concerned with warranty $$ for the bearing itself.

Gonna have to get some real numbers off of one--- then you should be able to find one.
Thanks thats what I need.

If you can get an ID number from the actual bearing, these guys have been known to have a lot of bearings in stock......I've never used them, but they were highly recommended during a recent bearing search of my own.....

I have local industrial vendors just need that illusive I.D.#

Doc your on the right track now just translate that BRP# to the industry standard bearing ID#

Thanks alot guys you are all very helpful

One would think there's a cross-reference somewhere at BRP in a secret lab-- or at NSK since many of their other bearings are NSK.

I would think when BRP gets the bearings (like the rear wheel ones) from NSK - that NSK has them all packaged with the BRP bearing numbers on the packaging--- so someone at NSK might just be able to match these up...

Good luck...

They claim a 15 minute response time I tried it we'll see. Thanks Doc.

bearing

if you are unable to get a number from the old bearing, take it in to a reputable bearing/seal/transmission place and they should be able to source by dimensions / sealed -unsealed- double roller or whatever. I have been sourcing items like this for longer than I can remember. DO NOT GO TO NAPA? CAN>TIRE or whaqt have you in your neck of the woods. Hope it helps and good luck.:2thumbs: ( partsman by trade ) driving trucks.

bearing

here in Edmonton, we have a B.C. Bearing and a Commercial solutions, if you are skilled in the use of a micrometer, they should be able to assist you, even if it is metric, which it probably is. Google them in CANADA.:2thumbs:
