• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is the seat incredibly wide?

Having come from a large scooter the seat seems excessively wide. I was speaking to the folks at ISCI and the guy I spoke to usually rides a BMW bike and said when he rides the spyder he feels like his legs are very far apart-this came up when I asked about highway pegs. I was curious how comfortable they would be having to spread the legs even wider apart

I guess it feels like riding a large horse with a motor-that being said I love my spyder wide seat and all.

I guess in time my thighs will adjust to it-other wise m hips will come out of their sockets!

you get use to it.

The seat on the spyder is about the same with as most touring motorcycle seats. Matter of fact it is just a tiny bit more narrow than my GL seat.

Now the console and engine areas are wider than the GL. You'll get use to it in a very short time. And I'm sure that like me once you get use to leaning your body into the turns you'll discover the SPYDER is a blast to ride. /Ken

I Hope to get more comfortable

I love the Spyder, but have spent a lot of money getting to this point-Around $3,000. Options at this point include:

CHAD windscreen

ISCI Floorboards, Hand brake, extended foot brake

ESI risers-I will be changing them to Kewl Metals-they simply don't put me in the right position. I am also limited to how far back towards me they can go as well, due to the hand brake.

Comfort seat

Scorpio Alarm

After spending all this money, I need to make sure I get comfortable. I know I have said this many times, but this is a huge change from my 600cc Honda motor scooter-position, power, handling and more. That makes it a little more difficult than if I had been riding a motorcycle.

I love not having to put my feet down at every light, as well as worrying less about loose stones in the road and so forth. I will not get to a point where I am being less careful, but there is a great amount of security knowing there are so many safety features built in.

What I would have liked was an RS set up with the same basic riding position as an RT. There should be a choice much as there is with motorcycles, and for that matter scooters. Honda has many sport and touring machines culminating in their 24K or so Goldwing. Right now the choice we have is sport or touring. I guess this could change in the future if sales are strong enough.

Sounds like you're off to a good start in making the Spyder fit your comfort zone. This kind of modding isn't unique to the Spyder--- pretty much done with every bike on the market to varying degrees.

They should put a disclaimer on the bike that says "this is just the starter kit"..... :roflblack:

I agree...the seat is really wide...I'm going to the comfort seat as I find the stock to be slippery and my manhood is getting crushed whenever I slide...ouch!
