• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I fitted my Baldwin Iron Works Cat Delete Kit. She said what…?

As my wife was heading out for a women’s retreat last weekend, she unceremoniously inquired about what plans I had while she was gone. I shrugged my shoulders and told her that I had no real plans other than to get some yard work done and maybe work on the Spyder. Off she went, and immediately I unboxed my Baldwin Iron Works cat delete kit, jacked up the Spyder on Big Blue, and went about removing the original behemoth stock cat.

I opted to test the new setup without the baffle, as Paul at BIW suggested I not use the baffle at first, since the baffle may get burnt into the existing pipes while riding, perhaps making it difficult to remove later if I opted to remove the baffle.

Wow! What a sweet sound! I decided to leave the baffle out because the signature was exactly what I was hoping for.

When my wife returned from her retreat on Sunday afternoon, I asked her if she’d like to take the Spyder to our favorite micro brewery. Since I wasn’t sure how she was going to react to the new sound, I decided to take the longer scenic route, just so she could fully experience the new set up.

When we pulled into the parking lot and hopped off the Spyder, my wife pulled off her helmet and said, “…that sounds amazing, I love it!”

I was a bit surprised by her reaction, but happy she appreciated it, because I really didn’t want to drop the baffle in.

I have to thank everyone who created posts about their own cat delete experience. I read quite a few posts, learned a lot, and based on all of the years of knowledge and experience that appears on SpyderLovers, I jumped in with little trepidation and got it done.

Thanks everyone! Now about that swaybar...

I think the sway bar is now more important than ever, before you inevitably do the 2nd stage ECU flash to go with that sound!

I consider myself lucky, indeed. I was certainly not expecting that response and was prepared to grovel a bit.

Will an ECU flash make that much of a difference on my ‘22 S2S? Is there much to unlock?

Very succinct! Are local shops performing this mod? Or are there only a few specialty shops across the country that can perform this work?

I'm sure that someone who's had an ECU Upgrade done over there where you are, in the USA, will chime in soon enough with local details, but here in Oz, we have Jase at Rotax Racing, also trading as ECU Xtreme, who is one of the best in the World at doing this for Can Am & Rotax powered machines, and I don't think anyone who has ever had theirs done hasn't been more than just 'pleased' with the results! I'm sure he would do an ECU Upgrade for you too, but there are people closer for you; arguably, maybe not quite so good, but still... ;)

I also have a 2022 RT S2S, and for many years (20+)/many bikes, I have dealt with Fuel Moto USA and Dyno Jet Power Vision products. I have a PV4 device for my Spyder, and they have built me multiple custom maps based on data logging I made while on rides. I have a custom map for best performance the requires 91+ octane, a custom made stock map (factory cat/muffler), a stock map with only enhanced a/f tables. The DynoJet supplied map makes a nice difference. FuelMoto has a nice BF sale if you want to wait a bit. A great thing is you can flash in a different tune in about 10 minutes. If you need to take the byke to the dealership for service, the factory map can be flashed in again in 10 minutes. Very satisfied. :)

Thanks Troop. I’m still reading the FORWARD of How to Maintain Your Spyder for Complete Dummies. 😆 But once I do some additional research, I’m sure this will begin to make sense to me. Thanks for your insights!

Monster FI stage 2 and yes he has a US tuner just don't remember the name? Check out the DIY section. ;)
Thanks for the info.
