• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I need to find an alternative to the dealership for routine maintenance

I bought it at Loves Park Motorsports, just north of Rockford. So far I can't complain about this dealer, other than the cost.

When I was shopping for my Spyder, I checked out, and test rode, a Spyder there. I almost bought it there till I got a quote from iMotorsports.

I didn't like the buying experience at iMotorsports but the price was right at least.

I travel 800 miles to get my oil changed. Shoot the bull with the tech servicing my bike. Catch up with friends that are local. And ride some great roads to boot.

Not everyone will have friends that they can visit while 600 miles away having their machine serviced.

I prefer to do my own oil changes, ride closer to home, and shoot the bull with local friends and my wife.

We made friends while there. We are a group of 7 riders that met by chance in South Dakota. Wives and girlfriends that stay in touch and plan trips. We all meet up at rallies, and patronize the local indies that take care of our rides. Headed to TN., W.VA., OK., AR., FL.. this year.

In the five years that I have owned my 2021 Spyder RT I have needed virtually no maintenance services. I've had a few oil changes and a rear tire replacement at the dealership where I bought the bike, but nothing outrageous in cost. Yesterday I dropped off the Spyder for an oil change and I suspected that I needed new brake pads. The dealership called me and said that I did need the brakes done, as well as needing a new rear tire (I sort of expected that as well) and a new drive belt which showed damage for a rock caught in the belt. When all was said and done, the bill was $1,900. I was stunned. With my own medical limitations there is no way that I can do the work myself, but the cost at the dealer seems crazy.
I feel your pain, brother. I can’t do my own maintenance anymore either. My 2022 RTL (bought 4/23) has only needed a few oil changes. In 2024 I needed brakes — $256 at a non‑dealer. In 2025 I needed a rear tire — $345.56 at the dealer.

The dealer I used for years stopped selling Spyders, so no more warranty work there. My 2025 yearly service was $322.98, but at the new dealer this year it jumped to $628.28. Ouch.

On the bright side, that’s about $52/month for a year of fun, and anything major is still under warranty. Once that ends, there are a few non‑dealers on Long Island who work on Spyders, and I’ll be using them.
