Broken Antenna on 2014 RTL - what size socket will take off without removing tupperware?

I have a 2014 RTL that the antenna broke off right at the tupperware. Does anyone know what size socket the will take that off without having to tear the tupperware off? I can't get a wrench down in there to get to it, but if I knew the size of the base of the antenna where it screws onto the bracket, I could go buy a deepwell socket to remove it.

As I recall, I used a 9mm deepwell socket and a pair of vice grips!
The antenna threads are glued on with the yellow stuff, so it takes a bit of muscle to break it loose!

On my Spyder it's actually a 7mm. I just verified it with an open ended wrench although if I were removing a broken antenna I would use a deep 7.

Yep, same here, on my 2013 RT, which I believe is the same as the 2014's - and I did need to use a deep 7mm socket to reach in there without marking the tupperware. And a bit of heat to loosen the excess of BRP's locktite won't hurt either!

Hi @SteveandBelinda,

I had a 2014 RTS (since sold/traded) and when the antenna was broken off a long time ago, I used a 7 mm deep socket to remove the part inside the tupperware. I also replaced the rubber boot that slides over the antenna (the bit that fits into & shows on top of the tupperware). If you are looking for the rubber boot, look for part number # 708300156.

I replaced the broken antenna with a short antenna. Sorry, no pictures.
