• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Clock Setting screen no longer works, any help appreciated!?

My clock settings screen no longer has a bar that says set clock. It has a bar that says time format 12 or 24 and a bar that says time zone. Therefore I can not set my time. I did just do an update for CarPlay, so I'm thinking that may have changed something. Help if you can, thanks.

When I updated to 4.1 my clock needed resetting too. What I found was that the time was right but it was in the wrong time zone. You can change that but you need to know how many hours + or - you are from prime meridian. I'm in central time zone so I set it to +7 hours to compensate for daylight savings time and the clock displayed the correct time. I don't know what one would do if a few minutes needed to be changed.

What year is your Spyder?

What Spyder model is it?

The above info might help others, so that we can help you.

I noticed that a choice was no longer available to "set clock" after installing 4.1, maybe they are getting time from your WiFi or phone now as all I have to do was adjust the time zone.

Ya, when I did the updates, I had the clock issue. You have to keep pushing the up or down arrow and watch the time on your screen; it will change at every push until it's right.

I just did a WIFI software update to 4.1. I couldn't find a way to set the clock, only the time zone. Does this mean that the clock will automatically sync to GPS like our phones? I hope so.

I didn't notice anything else, maybe more stable Bluetooth connectivity. Apple Car Play is supposed to be improved, but I don't use that (Android user).

Setting the date and time is done through the General settings in Preferences.

In any case setting the clock was different in 3.1 vs 4.1. As others have referenced they had to set the time zone. Which is what I did. I was just trying to clarify if our clocks would automatically sync now?

Your phone syncs it's time with the cell towers and GPS satellites.

Your Spyder doesn't communicate directly with either of those.

And yes, you can get navigation on the Spyder's display, but that's a function of an Apple iPhone connected to the Spyder, not something the Spyder does for itself.

Why bother yourself with a clock that wasn't accurate? After all, isn't that the purpose of a clock, to be precise? I have a clock on my wrist and in my cellphone that are precise, so I have no need for a BRP clock that refuses to be accurate. Just one more shortcoming in the long list of BRP's ill functioning devices we must overcome. This being 2025 and my ride is a 2014, I guess I haven't messed with my ride's clock now for over 10 years. Oh well, I forgot it was even there until I read this post. However, I'm very thankful the odometer is accurate and keeps on working. LOL

I was somewhat amazed to find years ago that the clock on my Spyder was the first battery operated clock that I ever had which gained time. I don't wear a watch and rely on my GPS for time.

I may run a test and disconnect my battery just to see what the clock does. On 3.1 each time I disconnected the battery I would HAVE to reset the date and time. I'll let everyone know what I find out.

Racoon, thank you for the info.

I am hoping that when my phone syncs with BRP GO! it will correct any time discrepancies. I am hopeful because after the 4.1 update my clock was spot on the minute and date. All that I had to do was set the time zone to get the correct hour.

I don't use navigation on my screen since I use Android.

I do see that it says the BRP GO! app will show some information about the Spyder, but I don't know if that includes syncing the clock to the phone's time.

Maybe do a test for us?

Change the clock to the wrong time using the Spyder's display, then launch BRP GO! on your phone and then connect your phone to the Spyder. After a minute or two, check the clock to see if it's been updated.

That is the thing. There is no place to set the clock, only the time zone. Am I still missing something?

When you're on that screen where you change the time zones just keep pushing the + or - sign and watch the clock display at the bottom of your screen it will roll up to the right time when you push it enough times!

I'll run through the steps again and see if the clock and date settings are available.
It's under the Preferences applet in the General settings. Look at the bottom of Page 54 of the 2024 Spyder F3 Series Operator Guide.
The Preferences applet is used for the following:
– Adjusting the display brightness and appearance (LIGHT/DARK/AUTO)
– Pairing Bluetooth devices:
• Phone
• Driver headset
• Passenger headset
– Connecting the vehicle to a Wi-Fi network
– Accessing to the Audio menu
• Configure the audio output (headset or speaker (if equipped)
• Access to Fade/Balance configuration
• Auto volume control
– Accessing General settings:
• Adjusting the units (Imperial/Metric)
• Setting the language
• Setting the date and time
• Updating the software via WiFi
