• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Did something change? I used to have large font and was able to read the forum. Now I need a magnifying glass to read. I’ve set to extra large font but, nothing changes. What setting am I missing?

This just happened recently.

That is most likely your browser doing it. It may have been set for larger type size and an update or something made it go back to default size.

There should be either 3 vertical dot or maybe 3 lines, possible just the word "Settings" someplace on the top of your browser. Most are on the top right side, but not all. It will open a dropdown menu. Look for a Zoom link, or maybe a text link with a % number by it. Run it up the whatever is easy to read and leave it there. The text size is adjustable in the browser, but it depends on which browser you use just what it is called and where it is located.

I don't believe anything has changed recently, and while the font size I'm seeing now is certainly a little larger than the previous platform's 'standard font', so it's easier for me to read, there's been no change that I'm aware of since the platform change some months back.

If you're not seeing any changes after you've tried changing your preferences, have you been refreshing the screen?? Or failing that: - logging off the Forum; stopping & restarting your device; then logging onto the Forum again?? Or looking into your browser settings as @Gwolf has suggested?

Either way, I'll check in to see if anything has occurred that would be making a difference, but since it seems to be just you experiencing this (at least so far - anyone else want to chime in??) I suspect that it'll most likely be something on your end??

If you are using windows and a mouse with a scroll wheel you may have pressed the control button when you rotated the wheel, changing the font size.

You haven't had one of those surreptitious browser updates recently, have you??

Every time I finally get comfortable with the way it all operates now, one of those bleedin' browser or operating system updates pops up, usually for some BS 'Security' or 'Fixing a potential Firewall breach' reason, and Pffft!! Instantly, everything changes, and I hafta call my 5 year old Grandson to come around and teach me how to use it all... AGAIN! 😖

You'd think once they get these things working, they'd just run with it for at least a few years, wouldn't you?!

Just a note on the Browser Settings;

You may change some of the browser settings and wonder why the browser is not responding as it should. This may or may not apply to the browser you are using, but most popular browsers do have "Accessibility" settings. This means that some of the settings can be changed in two different places, and the one that takes precedence seems to be what is set (or turned on) under the Accessibility tab. The text size setting, mouse click setting, and several more settings that define how the Browser reacts to input can be found in two different places. If you have set it in one place (like the Mouse & Touchpad settings) and it is still not reacting as it should, you should also open the Accessibility tab and check what is listed there and how it is set.

If I am on a website that has small print, I will often hold the Control key and the + key simultaniously to increase the font size. Each time one hits the + sign the font increases one size. The same works in reverse if the - sign is used, fonts get smaller. This is most often for websites I probably would not regularly return to.

How to change the setting temporarily depends on your OS and which browser you are using. I have link to a drop down to change many of the settings in the upper, right corner of the browser when it is open. One of the settings is a Zoom setting which will increase the size of the entire page being displayed by a percentage, plus or minus, one thru hundreds of %.

If there is something hard to read or an image that needs to be enlarged, just use the Zoom setting, and put it back where it was before moving on, or you will be blowing your normal screen size out of proportion.

The Zoom setting will go down to 25% or up to 500%. Mine stays on 100% except when trying to read the fine print, or see vague details in an image.

Yeah, just tried that on the browser I have on right now, and it works exactly like the Zoom setting. I switched to the Zoom setting to bring it back down to normal size. That is on a Chromium browser, on a Linux Ubuntu OS. The Firefox browser running on a different tab works with the Ctrl and + too.

And most of all, as we age as much as some of us want to believe we still have 20\20 vision, a trip to the eye doctors may be the best thing!!!! 🙃 🙃 🙃 🙃

And for those of us who are Apple lovers, in Chrome it's Command + to increase the size, and Command - to decrease the size.

The Command +/- also works in Firefox and Safari browsers.
