What did you do to your Spyder today?

I spent almost $800 on the Spyder. Been having on and off parking brake issues. I have adjusted it a dozen times. It works for a while, then doesn't. I took it in the have the shaft recall done and asked them to check it out. It turns out that I have a faulty switch on the left side of handlebars. This is the first repair I have had on the Spyder, so I told them to get the part ordered and fix it up. I want to do a nice long trip this year; my first trip in two years, since having both shoulders replaced. I think I am finally ready to hit the road again. Wife wants to do Black Hills again, but do it before the Sturgis Rally.

Took my '22 RTL for a ride today with my Wife on the back. Left Yakima and went up the Yakima River Canyon to Ellensburg. Had lunch there, then went over to Vantage on the old highway. Crossed the Columbia River and headed South to Vernita Bridge and on down to the Hanford Gate. Turned West and headed back towards Yakima. Went around Yakima on the freeway and picked up Hwy 12 West. Turned off at the 40th Ave. back up, and went over to West Valley. Nice day for a ride. 'Bout 165 miles. Had a good day, all in all. Maybe I'll take the wife's '19 F3L tomorrow - and her. Head down to Mabton, turn and head out to Bickleton, then turn and go down to Hwy 14, along the Columbia River heading West. Pick up Hwy 97, go North to Goldendale, and then head on back to Yakima. It should be another nice day for a ride tomorrow.

I'm curious how creative folks have been in finding places to mount or secure the Show Chrome fuse block. The area under the head lights has wire bundles & connections for most the auxiliary lighting that's been added, and there's still some room in there, but I'm wondering where else this style fuse block has been placed. I'm considering putting over by the air filter but wondering if it'd be too hot under that panel.

Not today but recently. Had a Knee replacement so I've sort of been out of it for a while. I got a Carpuride 600 for my Spyder and installed the cameras, one on back using the hole for the antenna as I don't use radio on bike. We have Senas which we use to listen to audio books, podcasts, and music. And of course, to communicate with my lady. The front one is in the front just below the windshield. I could not get it patched into the system to be on and off with the ignition. It seems the wiring is not correct. However, it was all ready when I took it to the dealer for a repair and had the tech get it wired correctly. He also did a nicer job of running the wiring. It seems to work fine. I have several more things to try out with it.

I replaced the under seat & rear trunk shocks with the Show Chrome upgraded struts. My wife said if I didn’t replace the trunk strut she was filing for divorce.

Finally hit the 600 mile mark in my RTL today, break-in is over. In the previous day I installed the Show Chrome trunk lights, the Garmin Zumo XT2 and the foam hand grips. Now I am ready to hit the road with a long road trip.

74 degrees here this past Saturday, but I decided to be responsible and organize my tools in the garage. After working on that for about 6 hours and finding tools that I didn't even remember having, I decided to ride the wife's spyder around the block in order to keep the battery charged. After riding through parts of Cary, Raleigh, Garner, Fuquay Varina, Holly Springs, and Apex, I arrived back home safely and added 50 miles to her bike. I had to ride around this block, waiting for pedestrians to get out of the way so I could pull onto the sidewalk and get this shot.

I did the brake pads on the F-3. I also put in speed bleeders that made the brake bleeding job a lot easier. Also put one on the VSS - wasn't too bad to get to it.

I use an app called Faststone Photo Resizer. It compacts image files in bulk, and works quite well.

I had trouble initially as well but found that resizing the picture while it was still in my phone made it possible to attach them to my post. Be sure to remember to attach as thumbnails, or you'll be reminded by the mods.

Weather has been decent in Germany in the last 10 days or so; I rode my RTL to work every day. A bit chilly in the mornings (0-2 C, 36 F) but decent in the afternoon (up to 16 C, 60F). Beautiful weekend, up to 68F, a couple of nice rides. Got the service done yesterday, dealer is 1 hr away, oil and brake fluid change, and inspection, 319 euro without taxes.

Last Saturday did an Oil Change and replaced my rear tire with a Vredestein Quatrac 205/65R15. Took a short ride after and was totally impressed at the handling and ride difference from the Kumho that was previously on it. Noticed acceleration was a bit zippier than previous rides.
Mounted 2 Vredesteins 165/60R15 on the front last year. Totally happy now all the way around. Come on SPRING, we're ready to roll!

What did it cost for your Rear Tire? Did you install the Tire?
Just trying to get an idea of having someone else do the job.

Tire was bought from Tire Rack. Cost was $117.77. ($129.40 with tax ). Shipping was free.
I had the Tire mounted at the local Bike Shop, but I installed it myself.

*Just to add, if this is the first time the rear tire has been changed on your Spyder, it may be a bear to get the hub off, should you need to remove it to have the new tire mounted. The yellow locktite is "extremely" strong. This was my 2nd rear tire change experience, and it was definitely a lot more muscle grunting than the first. So, with that said, if this is your 1st tire replacement, I would definitely have a shop do the work, unless of course, you already have the tools. It took 2 of us to muscle the hub off, but we managed with a lot of grunting. Best of luck to you.

My Spyder Dealer replaced the Rear Tire. But I had to agree to use 'BRP Approved Tires'.
So now I am trying to find a Bike Shop to help me out.
