• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Not having any luck finding a Trailer Hitch for my F3 S SM6

I've been trying to find a trailer hitch for my F3 S SM6 and am not having any luck. I have ordered one from TrailerETC.com twice, and both times they have refunded my money. I'm wanting to do some traveling and I would like to have a trailer to haul my stuff as the F3 doesn't have much storage space.

In the F3 family, the F3S and F3 were not designed for towing. Only the F3 Limited and F3T were. You might want to contact a spyder specific after-marketer to see if they have made one.

I have this one on my 2019 F3-S. They contacted me for the VIN to be sure it would work, shipped it fast, and answered any questions I had on the phone. Been towing trailer loads of animal feed, garden fertilizer, sometimes lumber, and other things. I built the trailer to haul my electric wheelchair, but found it is also very useful for many other things. They had the plug & play wiring and the trailer hitch on sale for $100 off when I ordered it.

Keep a close check on those welds. That thing takes a hell of a beating. That's one of several reasons the OEM hitches are designed the way they are. JMHO, I'd rather see the hitch ball bracket on the inside of the frame and welded to the inside rather than the outside, but it is what it is; just keep an eye on it.

The hitch is built very heavy duty, and I built that little trailer myself. The trailer empty weighs just over 100 pounds. Pulls so easy you have to keep looking in the mirrors to be sure it is still back there. It puts just a little drag on steep hills with 150 to 200 pounds of feed in the trailer.
The hitch is not welded to the frame at all. It has several good size bolts holding it on. If anything broke, it would be the bolts, and that is unlikely. Been using it for several years and no problems. If it does break a weld I have 2 welding machines in my shop and know how to gusset stress points.

Did a "broken trailer hitch" search here but this new platform won't allow copy and paste photos. Just written comments on the subject, lots of them.

It won't do copy and paste, but you can add images to the posts using the ATTACH FILES button on the left lower side of the post reply box.
You can even add multiple images to your post.

Thank you for the link. I'll have to wait until I build up my savings some. I hope they keep it available.
