Another rider needed a jump start, which got me thinking... Here's my better way!

I have a Power Jump Start Power Pack that I use on my Spyder and Sled when needed.
The Power Jump Starter kit comes with all of the accessories jumper cables, accessory adapters (for an phone; plus it has an LED light for a flash light, input/out put slots, and slots for USB charging.

Good info, ^^ but it only applies to the 2012 Spyder's and earlier models!

If you've got a 2013 or newer V-Twin powered Spyder, then the battery is no longer under the seat - just like it is on all the 1330's, it's behind a panel in the back wall of the frunk.

However, if all the 2013+ V-Twin powered Spyder models are like my 2013 RT (and if all the Oz V-twin powered Spyders I've seen are anything to go by, then I suspect that the rest are too - happy enough to be corrected tho. ) there's a 'remote Battery Terminal block' under the Frunk Lid on the Left hand side (when seated on the Spyder ), below the black removable cover that opening the frunk exposes, the black sorta triangular cover that's just below the headlight - once you take the cover off, you should see a Red placcy cover on the positive terminal, with the negative terminal left naked exposed. It's a handy place to attach accessory wiring too.

It should work as long as you have a place to mount it with enough clearance to remove the post caps, you have 4ft of cable to work with. You could buy a longer cable set if needed.

The Red & Black leads you can see hanging over the frunk lip/seal are for a charging pigtail that I had just added as quick'n dirty fix.

Sounds like about the same thing I just did, except I ran the hot from the plus post of the battery to an insulated base post mounted just above the left A-frame of the front suspension. The ground cable went from a grounded frame part to the same place. I used some left over welding cable pieces from an AC buzz box I rebuilt a while back. The pieces of welding cable are slightly larger than the OEM hot wire from the battery post. I don't even need to open the frunk, just put a clamp on the posts up between the suspension and where the side covers come down to.

The bottom parts of the accessory posts are some kind of bakelite or other insulating material. The posts I got already had 2 mounting holes drilled in the base to bolt them down. There are many different types of the posts on the web.

Some kit like this would have about everything needed if you don't already have the crimpers, cable eyes, and spare cable to build welding leads or battery cables. You don't really have to have a set of crimpers. You can crimp the ends with the proper size hex nut sawed in half and hitting it with a hammer. The crimpers just make a neater job.

The longer cable on my sled is under the seat, and connected to my sled battery. So I have access to it when needed.

On my Spyder, I am able to use the power pack whenever I need to.
