Washed 2024 RTL, engine light on, no start

I washed the spyder and when I tried to start it, it would not turn over. Engine light is on. Checked battery voltage - seems OK. Used compressed air (in a can) to blow out around started switch, etc, still no joy. Wondering if it sits for a while and dries out if it will start, or do I need to be more proactive than that. No codes. BTW, I did a search and didn't find anything specifically addressing this.

FWIW I washed mine (same as yours) for the first time yesterday and got everything good and wet, no problem starting it after I dried it with a blower and chamois. Did you use a pressure washer or hand wash?

Hand wash, no pressure wash. I've washed it like this before with no issues. Thinking about taking a hair dryer to it and dry around the electronics on the handlebars.

Sounds trivial, but check your kill switch or step on the brake

Your 2024, I believe, has one of those cheapo Chinese batteries that BRP is so graciously peddling. If so, pull it out , take it to an auto parts store and have it load tested.

Did you hit the handle bar kill switch ? Many people do and don't know they did

I'm almost too embarrassed to post this - but yeah, I was forgetting to put my foot on the brake. As many times as I have started the Spyder, and I just rode it yesterday. But I'm pretty sure I wasn't putting my foot on the brake today when I tried to start it. No excuses, just a lapse of memory I suppose. Anyway, thanks for posting the trivial items, that was spot on.

Yeah, new battery is a must. Yesterday I started it with a fully charged battery according to the battery tender, rode it for 70+ miles, got back and put it back on the tender and it indicated more than 80%, not fully charged. Seems like after 70 miles it should still be fully charged. Hopefully I can find a battery locally without having to order one.

Glad to help! I always shut down my trike in gear, when I restart (1)step on brake, (2)shift into first gear as soon as the dash lite goes to (P) park position. Its all in the timing, NO CLUNK in the transmission.
47,000 miles and I have it 95 per cent perfected, NO CLUNK at start-up and go.
