Yes, your DESS thread is still a Sticky and available; and the points thing has always been around, just not shown &/or utilised much, as is still the case (at least for now!

OK. I did not know that the points thing was around. Where can I send a PM to someone on this site?Yes, your DESS thread is still a Sticky and available; and the points thing has always been around, just not shown &/or utilised much, as is still the case (at least for now!)
The former platform was no longer actively supported, which rapidly became a major maintenance and ongoing operational issueI'm not a big fan of the new website format, but I'm sure there was a good reason for the change.
I'll get used to it eventually.
Click on their username and one of the links in the drop-down list should be 'Send direct message'. Then you'll need to watch the envelope & bell symbols just to the right of your username up toward the top right corner of the page for the little red numbers that'll tell you there's something waiting for you to look at. And if you can't readily access the username of someone you want to message, you can also click on the envelope shown to the right of your username up in the top right corner of the page; then click on 'Send direct message' from the bottom of the drop-down list there.OK. We are all still on a bit if a learning curve with this new format, so you might need to bear with us a bit as we work out how to do things and move around the new format.![]()
Okay, that makes sense. Software support is important for a forum that's as active as this one.The former platform was no longer actively supported, which rapidly became a major maintenance and ongoing operational issue
So that is why this forum has a new look and etc.The former platform was no longer actively supported, which rapidly became a major maintenance and ongoing operational issue... so something had to happen if we wanted to keep the Forum, and fairly quickly at that...
So yes, it's a change, but I'm sure we'll all get used to it eventually.![]()
Go to your Member account, preferences, style and change to 'Tactical'. You may like that better as it's much darker.I don't care for the new look. The colors and bright look are a bit hard on the eyes.![]()
Try this:I used the icon that brings up all "new" posts on threads since I last looked in. That seems to be missing with this new look. Sure hope it comes back. And my quick link to the Spyderlovers sight no longer works. I assume I need to replace it with a new link.....?
Thanks. What I miss is the icon on the individual threads that brought up new posts on that thread since my last visit. Clicking on "new posts" brings up all new postings for the entire forum but doesn't isolate the new posts on individual threads. As it is now, I have to sift through various posts to find new postings on threads of interest. I'll keep looking and trying stuff. Sure hope that new posts icon for the individual threads has not been deleted though. I found it very useful. And, yes, I'm in the process of creating a new quick link to get to the forum home page.
The old site color and font was easier to read.I'm not a big fan of the new website format, but I'm sure there was a good reason for the change.

Switched to tactical and it is a little better. On my 27" display, the default looked washed out.The old site color and font was easier to read.
