I was able to purchase a 6 flat pin to a 4 flat pin adapter from Bushtec to use with my 2013 Bushtec Entourage trailer and with my 2013 Victory Cross Country tour as well as my 2024 Ca am Spyder RT limited. Hopefully it all works out. Thank you all for suggestions.
Hi Smoky,
I pull a '93 Bushtec Turbo 2 with my '22 RTL. It seems complicated at first, but it just comes down to the basics.
If you use a 4-pin flat, typical trailer connector, you might not be able to use all of the features of the Bushtec wiring. Bushtec uses a 6-pin connector because you have separate turn (L & R), running lights, and brake lights. The 5th wire is for a hot wire that is used if you have an interior light that you want to switch on when the trailer is connected. The 6th wire is ground.
I bought a CURT 58034 from Amazon and cut it in half. The female connector is on the Spyder, and the male connector is on the trailer.
For the trailer side, I made an adaptor using a 6-pin Bushtec connector (just in case I ever want to sell the Bushtec with the original wiring). So, it goes from 6-pin straight Bushtec to 6-pin square.
On the Spyder side, I bought a relay pack for isolation (not sure where I got it from, but you don't need the Can-Am wiring harness because you aren't going from 5-wire to 4-wire).
The pin-out for the Bushtec connector can be found by a quick Google search.
As I recall, I removed some of the rear panels and (maybe) the saddle bags. The relay pack lives somewhere under the passenger seat.
If you want to do it this way, PM me. I'll give all the help I can.
