• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Must I Wait for the safety message to appear before hitting mode and starting?

I'm relatively new to a 2014 RSS. I read about this in another thread, that it is not necessary to wait to start the motor. So I went out to the garage, turned the key, immediately hit Mode and Start and it started (in neutral with parking brake on). I've tried to repeat this several times, and it hasn't worked. I have to wait before it will start. Am I missing something?

There is no way around it on your 2014 RSS. I can't say you'll ever get happy with it. I'm still working on this with my 2008 GS which I purchased new. But it is nothing more than another one of life's small and needless irritations. Once I'm riding. I forget all about it until I start it up the next time.

As Ron says, just adapt to live with it, Dick. Switch your key on, then put on your helmet and gloves, and your RSS will be ready to go

One exception. When you turn off the bike to fill it up, you can restart your bike by simply pressing the brake pedal and hit the starter button, it will start. At least this was true on my 2015 RT-L. It must be done within a certain amount of time, which I do not know how long that is.

Long enough for computer to shut down. If does not ( if just use kill switch not key, then can; kill switch back to run & foot on brake “should” crank. Caution with this tho as some lights will stay on & can kill battery ,enough won’t crank(especially if someone walks up asking about spyder)

There is a cycle time on the computer. If you don't exceed it, the bike will start again without the need to hit the mode button.
