A couple of days ago I (accidentally) cleared the 'A' trip statistics. The next morning I went about doing errands on my 23 RT L and did about 30 or so miles.
When I looked at the 'A' trip statistic numbers the average fuel consumption was about 4 miles/gallon! Clearly not correct.
I think that when I had cleared the 'A' statistics I had consumed about 25% - 35% of the fuel.
The only explanation for this phenomenon that I can think of is that the software might not setting the fuel consumption to zero when the reset is done so the miles per gallon in the statistics display for my short trip is calculated by
( (miles traveled for short trip) / ((gallons used prior to reset)+ (gallons used for the short trip))
Ideally I would like to reset the trip stats at the start of any of my rides and see the (right) statistics at the end of the trip.
Any insights would be appreciated.
