• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Steering gremlins have returned

Went for a ride today with Seth and Doc and wouldnt you know, the steering problems surfaced again, but worse than ever. No less than 6 times within an hour did the steering lock into a slight right turn, requiring extra effort to correct the problem. Back to the shop tomorrow and more calls to BRP for me.:gaah::cus:

Very sorry to hear this. I hope they will be able to get it corrected quickly for you, and that it will be a permanent fix this time.

Thanks. It was making me nervous, trying to catch Seth and Doc with the issues. Not only was it locking up, but once I got it straightened out, it felt more like a mechanical issue, like a binding in the straight position. Then it was notchy when turning, if that makes any sense. :dontknow::dontknow::dontknow:

Exactly like my third occurrence... had the problem even with the front DPS (processor) fuse removed.

.

Me too. Although they are replacing DPS units and stuff, the root problem is still there. That is what BRP needs to address, not replacing stuff.
What made them go bad?
Why were the replacement ones bad from the factory?
Where is the quality control?
When I can get these answers, I will purchase something from them again. Until then they can keep the 2010's.

I couldn't agree with you more on the DPS issue.

So, let me get this straight:

BRP are replacing units... and not FIXING the steering issues?

The steering issues are STILL in the Spyders?

..... EVEN AFTER THE DPS updates (two of them was it?), ... STILL there?

Anyone confirm this?

thank you.

My updates are here.

I don't understand why some people are getting mutiple dps's and mine isn't. But I have the same symptoms. Is this all a guessing game to them. Russian roulette with our lives?? Wouldn't they save money to take the time to get it RIGHT, instead of just changing parts left and right for no obvious reason? This is 7/8 weeks, I lost count that they have had mine. Gearbox sensor had to be ordered, so thats another week or 2. Really, at this point just scratching my head on whether they will actually ever get a PERMANENT fix. The domino effect has begun and got out of control.

Hey Dave... the story I got, Doc/Seth, was that you were wandering all over the road like a drunk sailor.:roflblack::roflblack:. Any truth to that??????:joke::joke:

Not funny, Doc/Seth , saw that you were having trouble in driving a straight line down the hyway and got very frightened that you might have an accident... That would scare me as I had a bit of the same problem as you, but my dealer has replaced my DPS and it seems to be ok.. However, the trust factor is very slowly returning.

Keep us posted and have a good year and be safe.

My prediction for 2010....Someone is going to be severely injured or killed due to the "steering problems" and BRP is going to have to cough up very big $$$ when they are sued. There is enough evidence on this forum alone relating to steering issues that seemingly can not be fixed to warrant a gulity verdict. I pray that I am wrong on my injury prediction, but the luck many riders have had in avoiding an accident is sure to run out evidentually. BRPeees stance on this issue has to be changed. If the steering on involved vehicles is not repairable to the extent of guaranteeing operator safety, the owners should be given the opportunity to get a full refund of the purchase price. In the end this will probably be more cost efficient for BRP than having to pay court settlements....and it might save some lives !!
