Where's the best place for a K-tag on the Spyder?

A question for those Spyder ryders in Kansas/Oklahoma/Texas who have K-TAGs for motorcycles. Where is the best placement for the Spyder, other than the windshield? We were thinking of putting them on the top/inside of the 'frunk' lid. Any thoughts or recommendations are welcome. TIA.

That’s interesting, I’ll have to try that with mine. The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority says theirs will not work when stuck to a plexiglass motorcycle windshield so I’m curious to see if it works thru the frunk lid, guess I’ll find out.

For the Dallas area I called and was told not to bother..everything is run by license plates, and if you have a toll road account you’re charged the lower rate (of course you do need to make sure all vehicles are linked to your account)..

This is likely no help at all if you are determined to ride on turnpikes, but the best place for the Oklahoma Pike pass is in the trash can. The OTA is a corrupt agency attempting to run a ponzi scheme to finance turnpikes that nobody wants. Google Pikeoff OTA for more information.

We run US81 thru Nebraska, Kansas US81/135/I 35 which is toll road south of Wichita. Into Oklahoma and back to 2 lanes south of KS/OK border. Then pick up 44 turnpike at Chickasha to Ft Sill. We go down to visit our kids and run some Interstate/toll roads to save some time. We've run 2 lane all the way several times but when you get to middle of summer the grasshoppers are as bad in rural Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma as they are in western South Dakota. They make a huge mess and it's not as bad running Interstate.

Hi.
The K-TAG is basically a 'sticker' you apply to your vehicle windshield that is read electronically at toll plazas to pay the toll instead of stopping at the toll booths to pick up a ticket and then pay for the ticket when driving on toll roads in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. The ones for motorcycles have a little device that can be 'read' in a saddle bag or other enclosed area on the bike. You just can't have any metal above it or it interferes with being able to be read. In some areas of Oklahoma and Texas they read the license plates but if you have a K-TAG account attached to your license plate, you get charged the lower toll rate.

In Maine, you get this little box thing that you're told to Velcro to your windshield. I take mine and have a spot on the shelf where the speedo is to stick to; a friend of mine just puts it in his tank bag, works fine. But this will not help you, yours seems to be a lot different.

In NJ we have EZ-Pass , it is a little box that charges your account, (with your license plates on file) it fits and works fine in the glove box, but , it doesn't pick it up in the frunk. I did hear if you do not have an account on file , you could get a surcharge of around $5.00, at the places that only charge your license plate (no person or no cash tolls)
