Installing 2020/2021 Spyder RTL backrest from Can-Am?

Have any 20/21 Spyder RT Limited owners self-installed the adjustable driver backrest from Can-Am? I'm not too mechanical but it looks like it should be fairly easy. However the online instructions are vague and unintelligible - so I'm wondering whether you have any tips for the install?

I agree the instructions are not very good for my non-spatial brain, I need words to go along with pictures.

However, the install is easy, the one thing I had to fiddle with to get it right was which side of the retaining wire thing-a-majig faced up but I figured it out so no doubt you will too. It's easy, go for it!

Something I did to mine may help. I placed a loop of strong material, 1in webbing in my case, around the wire retainer. It makes it so much easier to remove at any time.

Bracket and Panel Nut not Aligned

I found this thread and feel like an idiot. I have a 2021 RTL and the OEM back rest. The bracket that holds the back rest in places, does not line up with the panel nut so that the bolt will fit in place. It seems the bolts only wants to go straight down, but the panel nut is at an angle.

It seems easy enough and I agree it should take about 10 minutes and yet ... here I am. Can anyone provide some advice or direction to assist in getting this installed?

Thanks

Do you have the bracket upside down? Mine installed no problem.

Push the bracket down firmly into the slot until it SNAPS into place. Then the bolt should easily fit into the nut.
I just did this install for my 2022 RT yesterday. (Thank you, Brentc!)
