I would hop on board! After all that information about the auto train yesterday, I can't stop thinking about it. A run to KeyWest from Sanford would be awesome!

Who's eager enough to set up some dates and plan it out?
The little bedrooms book way, in advance. Maybe something in the Spring? Summer?

Hotel rates in Key West can get pretty ridiculous in the winter. It is usually best not to fight this and just go a little later.

It is going to be in the mid 80's for the next week here in south Florida. We have a semi-tropical climate which is usually noticeably warmer than central Florida. Riding weather has been good and getting better as the temperature moderates somewhat.

I've been wanting out for years. Key Largo is nice too. Spent a week there with Taylor's Make-A-Wish Trip. Got use to that real fast, but it was awfully hot in June! Maybe we need to start being Snowbirds!!!

Thanks! Needed that kick in the shorts. I think its gonna snow here again tomorrow and again on Wednesday:gaah:. I hate winter in the Northeast:gaah:.

When you guys come down the east coast I will catch up with you in Key Largo, which is the first of the keys and is 110 miles from Key West. My home is about 75 miles from Key West as the crow goes, if he is flying. If the crow is riding a motorcycle the distance is about 245 miles. Naples is due north of Key West.

I know.... I know... it's shameful to even think of "getting a ride" for 19 hours.
But I've riden that stretch of I-95 down on 2wheels in to Daytona in my younger years, and there was just nothing pretty about it. It was just grueling.

now, if we decided to go west... well, that would be a different thread.
