Last Friday I boarded a plane Atlanta to St. Louis and purchased a 2020 Spyder RTL. The owner picked me up at the airport, we drove to his house and did the deal. I immediately hopped aboard and drove 600 miles in 9.5 hours having never been on a trike before. This was a gift for my wife. I am a 2 wheel guy and will continue to be one.
Things I learned on my drive home
At 6’5” I was thankful for the tall windscreen he installed.
If you put your size 15 feet too far forward on the floorboards your feet can touch the front tires
The cup holder the previous owner installed is not a front brake lever and will not stop the bike if you squeeze it
Learned you can “stand up” while riding down the highway. You may look silly but it gives your butt a break
There is a learning curve going from 2-3 wheels. Especially around curves.
I am now on the hunt for a new rear tire, sway bar and mirror locks.
Looking forward to being part of this forum.
