• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Handlebar riser for 2016 Spyder RTS - does it exist?

I'm looking for a handlebar riser or some kind of short-reach handlebars for my 2016 Spyder RTs. I've looked in the big 3 sites (Lamonster, Spyderpops, Slingmods) and no luck - any riser for an RT is for 2020 or newer. Help? It would greatly help my comfort level. Thanks!

Unfortunately, no. The only handlebar option for the 2019 and old RTs are the Tri Axis bars. Those are about $600 and the installation is very labor intensive. I've heard labor costs anywhere from $600 to over $1k as you have to completely remove everything from the seat forward (if I remember correctly).

You will probably find your only option for the 2010-2019 RT's will be the optional BRP Tri-Axis Handlebars, which aren't all that cheap! There also used to be 'dog-bone' risers available that you could put between the hand grip/modules & the bars themselves, but they did take a bit of fabricating on your behalf & are much harder to find/source these days... so you may be stuck with the Tri-Axis bars?! :lecturef_smilie:

Mind you, another option might be to get your seat modified to suit - the OE Optional Comfort Seat gives the Rider 2" of more space (at the expense of the Passenger's space!) while the Utopia, Russell, Laam, & the other a/mkt seats can be adjusted to suit your needs if you want to be closer/higher to the bars.... altho all of those options aren't exactly 'cheap'! If you want to spend less than the cheapest of those mentioned already, then maybe you could try an Air-Ride seat cover, or maybe a thick Sheepskin/Lambswool cover might help?? And there's always Motorcycle Dave, who's also a sponsor here on the Forum, who might be able to help - give him a call (click his logo on the home page or in the banner adverts above for details) it can't hurt, and he might have just the solution for you!

Good Luck!

Back whenI first bought my ‘14 RTS in ‘15, I needed risers for mine, but there was no such thing. My Dealer came to the rescue and sold me the Tri-Axis that they had in stock that wasn’t selling. I got it for half price, but no deal on the labour for installation. If memory serves me correctly, the total cost was around $1,500.00. Terribly expensive, but I wouldn’t be riding today if I didn’t get it. Soooo, cost is relative. How badly do you need it? Will you be able to ride without it?

I have the Tri-Axis bars on my 2014 RTS since new...I consider them the best single up grade I could have done...I installed them myself...Time consuming to install but doable...

There were a chrome set "for sale" on here about a week or two ago...Check it out...

The chrome ones are what I have, and contrary to popular belief, they DO NOT reflect the suns rays into your eyes. I WOULD NOT be without the tri-axis bars.

I have a 2013 RTS and had the same issues. I put the Rivco CA017 risers on it a few months ago and haven't had any issues. Rivco states they are for a 2008-2012 RS, RSS and GS model, but I had no problems bolting right on. Cut a couple of zip ties on the wiring harness to make room, the rest of the install was about 30 minutes. They are adjustable position, brought the bars back about 2 inches and up about 1 1/2 inches where I have them set.. Got them off Amazon for about $230 but they are available at multiple locations online.
