• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are Used prices incredibly high right now?

delkhouri, go to NADAguides.com and search on something you might like. When you get to the price page click on the option to see Spyders for sale in your general area. This will be a dealers only search but you might find something you like.

To answer your question about high prices the website has a banner at the top with this phrase.

COVID-19 has caused inventory shortages due to increased demand.

Also, check out craigslist.org. You can search the entire US if you want. There are fraud ads on CL, but also many legitimate ones.

You want to play, you got to pay!!The whole world is getting crazy, look at the prices of 2nd hand cars, anything it's all the same! Yes, the prices are going up, and in some respects it's our fault, because we keep buying! It's a catch 22, supply and demand, as long as there able to get them sold, they will keep jacking the prices up! I was raised to be a horse trader, and I love to ask the hard question, will you come down on your price, sometimes it works, sometimes I walk away!!

Spring is coming...

delkhouri -- I'm not sure what you're looking for.
I will say that most of my searching has been on cycle trader that is mostly dealers and facebook marketplace where people seem to be trying to get out from under a loan they regret but that second one is just my guess
Two of the fourteen under $15K F3s I identified in my Cycle Trader link were Private. Are you saying you need a Private seller? What are your criteria?
I have been considering selling my ryker for a while and buying a F3s or F3T for longer rides and multi-day trips.
Spring is on it way and I'd choose riding what I have over looking for a better ride; overall riding is a better investment than bank payments.

Overall, I am just exploring the idea of selling my ryker and getting something a little bigger with a bigger smoother more fuel efficient engine (and no cvt) that is more comfortable for long trips. I can’t ride right now because its winter in ohio so im researching options. As i have started my search i was just dumbfounded by all the ads i see for 2015 or 2016 base model f3 for $15-17K and I just didnt understand why that was the case when i can go to a dealer and get a brand new one for that price. Many dealers have 2021 base f3 in stock and i just didnt know why used ones are being sold for the same amount.

Are you basing that off actually seeing them in stock or web searches? Every dealer I have been in lately has zip in stock.

A couple of things to keep in mind while you're shopping...... Advertised price and out-the-door prices are sometimes very different. Be cautious. If you find yourself working with a dealer, I would insist on just dealing with ONE number and that number is exactly how much YOU need to give THEM to drive the vehicle off the lot. That one-number approach works weather or not there is a trade involved. Don't allow them to try to confuse you with a bunch of other gobbly-gook. Good luck..... Jim

Riding iis your best lifetime investment

delkhouri -- before I gave my track Mustang to my niece, my open-tracking instructors said investing in seat time was a better investment for improving track times than investing in car modifications. And of course seat time is more fun.

Today I have an RT-S with an add-on 50L toolbox mounted on the hitch (or an RT-622 if I remove the toolbox) but my circumstances mean a long ride begins from home at 0700 and ends in the same place at 1700.

The transition from your Ryker to an F3 will please your tax authorities and banks as well as dealer bottom lines leaving you less money for good times on the road. Spend your money on accessories that make your Ryker an more comfortable tourer and spend your time on planning all the nifty places you will visit and nifty things you will do when you're there once Spring arrives. Especially if you can line up some buddies to join you.

No F3 BRP ever built will ever be more fun than time on the road, even if your butt hurts at the end of the day. Do it now before your longest trip becomes a 0700-1700 day ride.

That is really good advice, but I have owned my ryker for 2 years today. I have plenty of saddle time and quite a few overnight camping trips on my ryker. I have two big concerns with the ryker which is why i am looking at a spyder

1) the ryker has a cvt which means that its easy to ride and always ready to go.. but that also means that cruising at highway speed it is at 7000+ Rpm which makes it loud/noisy/droney and with RPM’s that high it gets pretty terrible gas mileage. I know the spyder isnt exactly amazing at fuel economy but from everything i read the 1330 on the spyder gets 35-40mpg and i barely get 30 on my ryker. The f3 has a 7 gallon tank taking it to 225 or 250 miles per tank. The Ryker has a 5 gallon tank so 150mile per tank
2) while i plan to do most of my longer trips solo but with friends my wife has expressed interested in going on some overnight and weekend trips with me and thats just not possible with the ryker as it has very limited storage i know there are aftermarket 3 piece luggage set but those are very expensive and i would likely need to upgrade the rear shock.

I drove 70 miles to buy a used(400 miles) 2019 Spyder F3-S, the dealer had it listed for $19,999, only accessory was the BRP windshield which I believe is $500. I showed him the MSRP on motorcycle.com he then said "Will you buy it at that price?" that day I left with a Spyder for $20k out the door.

It is a dealership, try negotiating if it is a used vehicle.
