• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

European Ryker

Does anyone know if I can ride the European Ryker in the states? It’s European due to the low beam headlights on the outside and the high beam headlights on the inside. The high beam headlights look like our regular headlights in the states.

I take it you're military ? Probably no problem, if any may need an exception letter, or change headlights. Check with military, they will be familiar with this.

If the military slant won't do the trick for you, and it's just for a temporary or short term visit, you may be able to apply (probably to or thru US Customs & Border Protection??) for the purchase a Carnet to allow you to drive/ride in the USA while you're there, but I don't think they last too long - a year max, if I recall correctly?! :dontknow:

A Carnet is a Carnet de Passages en Douanes - which is effectively a passport for a vehicle that's legal & registered in another country but is going to be temporarily used somewhere else.... dunno if the US still recognises them &/or issues them. It's been a while since I last did it with an Ozzie vehicle. Sorry. :rolleyes:

Not sure if I'd worry much about lighting, but worth checking I suppose. Factories aren't even aware of some of the differences between US and EU ... my transit connect van came with the EU rear fog lamps, and those are illegal here ... ;-}

Be interesting to see if anyone's figured out whether US emissions restrictions can be reset to EU settings.

:popcorn:

I was going to say, what are the chances you'll get pulled over for having the "wrong" headlights? I guess it depends on where you are. I see a lot of headlights these days at night that *should* be illegal :shocked: Where I live, you pretty much have to be speeding with no clothing in a vehicle that's on fire to catch the attention of the police. I'm not complaining.
