• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil change/transmission

I watched a video or 2, can't get my answer yet. Pulled both drain plugs, it's sat all night. So was the plug on the right side transmission? Motor and trans share oil?

Yep, it's just one big happy family. The transmission does have it's own filter on the SE5 and SE6 but it only gets changed every 28,000 miles, at least on the SE6.

There is only 1 oil that lubricates everything. But there are different compartments. Though the same oil circulates through everything. There are different compartments. To get all the oil out, you have to drain both of the main compartments. For the SE6. The transmission oil filter holds a very small amount of oil. Insignificant for a regular oil change. But you will get a bit more when you change that filter at 28,000 mile intervals. This is a fairly common scenario with motorcycle engines.

Thanks y'all, just wanted to confirm. Got it all changed, 5.5 quarts in, acceptable on the dipstick but I couldn't find anything in the manual to confirm so I was waiting for the second and third opinion. Going for a ride later to check for leaks and hot oil check.

5 qts. is all you need. Changed the trany filter, or screen, if you've ever seen one, at the 28K mile mark. Took it out cleaned it off and set it next to a new and couldn't tell which one was which. There was nothing in the OEM filter but I replaced it anyway. When I pull it again and if it's as clean as the first one I'm not spending the $$$$ to replace it. I think all it is, is a chunk catcher.

Good to know, I was wondering why they double filter.
