Trailer hitches still on back order?!

Hey kids, has anyone else noticed there are no trailer hitches available for 2020 RT's. I heard from dealers that they have been on BACK ORDER since last year:gaah::gaah: I contacted BRP Cust service and was told to call dealers, except, I purchased mine with the hitch included. It's kinda weird to have to call others for something I thought was ready to install. Oh well, just venting and wondering who else is in limbo???

My dealer had one in stock, so I had it installed on our new 2020 and picked it up last Friday. Guess I was lucky.

I had ordered one with my RT, but when I found out it would not be available before we moved I canceled it. Les thought it was the wire harness that was the issue, but found out it's the metal hitch itself. To bad you didn't pull your hitch from your old RT.

Don't understand. PN have changed but still looks like the same mount and hardware.
Oh yes, My arm rest were 3 months coming in when they too were part of the purchase deal.
I'll look at the parts manual break down and make sure all the hardware is the same for a 2019 and 2020.

They do. It's the wiring that changes.

Along with the wiring change, a new mud flap is included with the new hitch. The hitch itself is the same as past years, like on my 2016 RT, but the mud flap is too wide on the 2020 and is replaced when installing the new hitch. I think you could modify the existing mud flap to allow the hitch to fit if you install one from an older bike. Perhaps that accounts for the part number change along with the different wiring.

The only difference in the mud flap is a cutout area on the right side, that I can find no reason for. On mine, this cutout caused the mudflap to look like it was hanging crooked, so I swapped the original mudflap back in. Either one will work. I like the look of the original better. It's more symmetrical.

So install the hitch, do a mod on the mud flap, and break out the soldering gun and make your own harness! Seams simple to me:dontknow:, most of us are waiting for the world to open back up any way, go for it!!!
