• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

(No) Belt idler standard now on the new 2020 RT (Manual Wrong)

This belt idler pulley was misinformation on the service manual I copied it from.:trike:

I emailed Shawn Smoak about this because I did hear him saying in one of his videos there was no belt idler pulley.
Unfortunately this service manual is wrong. Oh well wishful thinking this one's my mistake.

Unfortunately, those online (non-factory authorized) shop manual sites can be off by a bit on up-to-date info... The Belt Idler Pulley had been dropped from the 2020 RT’s before production even started due to unfavorable results during testing. There’s no further details on the issue, but there’s a hint that they’re working on it. All our RT’s have come without the belt idler, as expected, and are smooth as silk...

Thank you Shawn for returning my email.

Wonder why I am seeing reports that there is no belt idler actually installed on the 2020 RT series from folks that have seen them? If my local dealer would only get off their a$$ and build one of the ones they have in stock I could answer the question for myself.................

I've looked pretty closely at my new 2020 RT and have NOT seen any belt tensioner. There's more plastic in that area than my old RT, so I suppose it's possible I missed it, but I don't think so. There is a belt harmonic at about 75 MPH, like my old RT so it doesn't feel like there's a tensioner present.

Almost everyone that reduced the tension on their drive belts noticed most if not all vibes dis-appeared ….. may be this will be true for the 2020's ….jmho …. Mike :ohyea:
