• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is it just me or do others think the recent posts are way off topic?

Hey, anything to make a new record page count and it's all good.

To remove a wheel with a new Kenda Kanine tire mounted on it, all you need is a BRP Tool # 593840DDX444920187WTF(*XX#!!!. You also will need a small ferret (preferably a grey/white one), a stick of dynamite, and a box of pitted dates (any brand). I'll leave the details for later.

Thanks for that great advice. Should the ferret be male or female or does it not matter?

Just like an old VW Bug with the large bolt pattern. You sit on the floor, make a Y with your feet (heels on the floor, toes pointed out), put the tire on your toes and adjust as needed until the holes line up. nojoke I did this many times with my Bug and it works with the spider too if it's up high enough. It's always handy to have another pair of hands and eyes to help out also.

:agree:. Added note- Don't raise the bike too high to use your feet to assist with the wheel lift, especially if using Kenda Canine tires. As an aside, if you ever put any lubricant on the wheel studs (or any bolt for that matter) you must reduce the torque by the proper amount based on the lubricant used. So coupling Vredestein tires with Amsoil lubricant on the threads you may have to use negative torque to get the appropriate clamping force! :joke:

Just use helium instead of air for the pressure and let them float into place. ;)

Since I took a snow day on Thursday. I am going to tackle installing the new Kanine on my rear wheel. Will be removing the Arachnoid tire.

OK. Got my snow day Kanine Tire mounted today. Now have to remove wheel from bike yet and reinstall.

Took a few pictures.

So, anyone with experience on this new Kenda tire? Is it appropriately named Kanine, meaning it's another dog like the previous offering? Or is it a better tire taking a bite out of the pavement?

Geez, I hope its the latter!

I installed all 3 kanine's on my bike and absolutely love them so far. Grabs well and I feel very stable with them. Much better than the previous kenda's

I'm waiting for the weather to make the ride to get my rear Kanine installed.

Can I ask what inflation pressure you used for the rear?

Thanks, Hank

Question re: OEM rear Kenda. On a F3-S ridden solo (and "normally"), taking into account proper inflation/balancing/wear/tear, how long "should" a stock rear tire last? 10K + miles reasonable ?

I consistently got 15K. I kept the inflation at 26# to allow for the center bulging when the tires are heated up. The only exception over 5 Spyders was the soft compounded tires that came on the 2014.

Mine is just over 10k and the tire needs replacing. Could I push it further? Probably... and some people push them pretty far.

I just ordered a Kenda Kanine... so I’ll see how long those last myself.
