• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Low oil light

How sensitive is this gauge/sensor? It came on twice. I checked the oil level. It was barely below full. I did add a little bit of oil to my Spyder. The light has not come back on since.

I was told get the oil changed every 3k miles. I have only put 2k on it since getting it.

Are you sure you checked the oil level using the correct procedure? :dontknow:

These Spyders (& Rykers) have a dry sump oil lubrication system and using the incorrect checking procedure can give you a very wrong idea of how much oil you actually have in there, either too much or too little. And having the oil level in the correct range is critical to the gearbox working properly, and of course, with keeping the engine working properly too!

What year and model? Makes a big difference.

What light are you seeing? Look close at the cluster and your owner manual if you need to. As JC says, there is no low oil level light, only an oil pressure light. If that comes on, and you have sufficient oil in the engine, you probably have a sensor problem. Or maybe something a simple as a loose connection on the sensor.

:agree: and are you sure what light came on ???? ……...….. a foolproof method of making sure the oil temp is where it needs to be is this …. after a ride of more than 15 min. check the oil level after you finish the ride …. it will remain the same until your next ride, and save you time and money ( for gas :roflblack: )…… Mike :ohyea:
