• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can am Ryker Disc Lock

This looks like a better option than the can am lock for the parking brake. Parking brake is plastic anyone can break it with a long flathead.

Caution....

One suggestion.... attatch a lanyard to the handle bars. There are models that come with this feature but in not you can add one. Heres the reason...For one so it will help keep those with the idea of rolling away to see it and not force a push and damage the caliper in some way and the other to keep you from accidentally doing the same. Otherwise a good safety measure for sure....

The one referenced on Amazon does come with a reminder lanyard, I bought the same one. However, the discs on the Ryker aren't really easy to get to. I bought and installed the parking brake lock as well as this disc lock but I doubt I will be using the disc lock.

I got XENA alarm disk lock that has been on the last several motorcycles I had. Changed the battery a few times, but other than that it works perfect. I think it is 120 decibel alarm when it detects motion...... real loud anyhow. Didn't cost a whole lot.

Wonder if is sensitive enough to alarm with motion of handlebars & just attach up there, easier to reach & see. Lanyards are ok but we still suck when in a rush.

Yeah, it would alarm if it detects motion anywhere it is locked on. It has to be locked through metal like a brake disk. If you lock it on the handlebars it is not stopping the wheel from turning. That is the main purpose of the disk lock. It would alarm if somebody got on the bike and moved the bars. That would not stop the wheels from rolling or moving the bike if the parking brake was off.

Hi Topdawg67 ref disc lock the big problem is " don't forget it's on " a friend of mine on trip to Germany forgot and nearly dropped it ( solo 2w) new disc required ! Use the parking brake and lock it ( US if you can ) it's safer regards Nico 75
