• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Air Scoops

A few of us were Telling BRP in these threads a few years ago that the Acoustic Panels OVER the cylinder heads did NOT make a whole lot of sense BUT it kept the sound down some? It proves they do listen- sometimes- If you do put on the Vents Make sure you Put the Kit Braces where the acoustic panels once were or ???nojoke

I have a 2011 RTL that I have to park outside the garage after long rides until the gas smell goes away. This happens when the gas tank heats up on longer rides and boils the gas. I am hoping this air scoop kit may solve my heat buildup problem. If I can't get BRP to supply the kit I'll get it from the Powersports Warehouse for $46.89.

Thank you for the link but there is no photos. I like to see what i am buying before I buy it. Do they have photos anywhere?

I bought my kit from there. Sadly i've not been able to find a picture of the kit yet. Shipping was a little slow (Took about a week to get it out) and way over priced IMO but I think they lower their actual product price and charge higher shipping, still under $70 and cheapest I could find.

You'll get the following:

1 x Bag of screws, bolts, nuts and caps
2 x scoops
2 x scoop covers
2 x scoop front fins
2 x structural bars
2 x foam pieces with heat tape already applied.

Get your BRP and walk through from Doc Riverside. I had my dealer cut my panels, only cost me $50. They already have the tool and what some may call a template supplied from BRP.

2012 RT, Template for Air Scoop and Instructions?

First of all, I want to thank EVERYONE for sharing their info.

I have a 2012 RT-S and I just received the Air Scoop Kit, I believe everything is here, scoops, screws, and the 2 structural bars.

Does anyone have the instructions and the template for installation. At this time, I rather do this myself. Will probably use a dremel tool to do the cutting. But I just want to get as much information as possible just to make things easier. Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Thank you.

This winter, when I took all the Tupperware off and did a lot of cleaning and checked wiring systems that needed positioning, I decided to try a little insulation on the fuel tank.
I used a couple layers of duct tape, covered by a layer of metal reflective tape and covered pretty much all of the fuel tank. I did not have a fuel odor issue before, but I thought that this may offer a little more insurance. My tank is now insulated a little more.

pics anyone

have been reading about the air scoop kits am fairly new to spyder wife and i are enjoying it and this kit sounds like good preventative maintenance does anyone know of where there are any pictures and where do they install thanks in advance

Info

Check out the thread "Heat recall on other model RT's". On the 3rd page there are list of the parts and on page 4 of 5 there are pictures of the scoops installed.

Installed the Air Scoops on my 14 RTL today. Followed Doc's instructions on the install. Had to get up the nerve to drill the holes that mount the scoops, :yikes: THEN cut out the rest of the areas.  :yikes:.Talk about Nerve racking. Used a rotozip tool to make the rough cut then a Dremel tool with a sanding drum to smooth out the cuts. Sure glad its done.:clap:NOW I have to wait for a dry day to go for a long ride and see how they work .

There was a single part number (219800388) awhile ago, but now the parts must be ordered individually. Check here, https://www.cheapcycleparts.com/oem...3197/body-and-accessories-heat-management-kit You will need the parts starting with #149. Don't forget to order Left and Right side.

Whoo, stop. I just found them on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Can-Am-Spyder-Vent-Kit-219800388/dp/B079S6B78J
