Seat and Frunk secondary releases

Hopefully I'll never have to use them. Pretty simple to do and well hidden. Sorry about photos being all over the place. Still new to this, but you get the idea.

Good idea to do this as there are several who have had a problem with the releases. Many have done this with wire. You could search for other threads. I would be afraid the bungee would dry rot or break after being in the weather too long, but you do what works for you. Just make sure to keep an eye on it.

Sweet!!! Having locked my key in the rear trunk (You were there), having something like this would have been invaluable and saved sending a rider to my house for the spare key. Smart move, bro!

I didn't think about the potential weather for. I will keep an eye on it and go back to the original idea if I see it deteriorating. Thank you!

If you buy an Ilco X270 key, have it cut to fit your Spyder, bevel it like in the picture, and keep it in your wallet or wherever you want to hide it on your bike it will allow you to do everything but start your Spyder.

Did a similar job (its out there somewhere maybe in my albums) but also always carry two keys with me. Have never locked myself out but you never know....:2thumbs:

On an RSS, if you lock your key in the frunk, just turn the handlebars all the way to the right. You'll see a cable with a small white piece of plastic around it. Gather up the slack of that cable into an L shape and give it a quick jerk toward the rear of the spyder. Frunk will pop open.

My brother locked the trunk, but it didn't latch. He decided to take his coat off that had the key in the pocket, put it in the trunk and closed it again, this time making sure it latched. :roflblack:

Use steel cable fishing leaders, various lengths and strengths available. Fittings on each end to connect.

Nope, never even considered the heat factor either, :duh: thank you! :bowdown: I have some wire, but not sure if I like it for this, thats why I didnt use it like I initially planed. I may look into what nobodyjj used.

:2thumbs: & some how mine didn't need the beveled corners:yes: also made a DIY card size holder out of coroplast to help hold in place in wallet spares pulled out slightly for show the blade fits in the coraplast holes with minor cutting for head of the keys. Another other option is securing one on the bike unseen but accessible, say ziptied to something under a easily removable panel. Or go Old school & lace into shoelaces :clap:hyea: ( :roflblack: but It works:lecturef_smilie
