• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tech question harness question

I hope so because I may have to return this one.....Also the 4pin plug at the end is a square job. so I have to cut that off and add in a flat 4 pin connector also.....some times it pays just to buy new.....

You might be able to cut the 4 pin square connector in two. Or, as others have done, split the flat 4 connector, tape it together, and it'll fit in the square 4.

BILLYBOVINE would you happen to have a part number...... ill take a look because I really do not want to cut into a harness .need to keep this a s clean looking as possible.. guys all of you have been a great help.

Just keep in mind what BRP is calling the "Control Module Harness" is just the Y harness. That will plug and play into the Spyder main harness. You still need the other 2 parts that you bought from another member.

As for the square Hopkins plug that BRP uses. Yes you can cut it off and replace with a flat one. But I would be inclined to just make an adapter. That way if in the future you wish to hookup a BRP trailer for some reason you still can. The Hopkins 4 square plug is available on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-4797...-fkmr0&keywords=hopkins+4+square+trailer+plug

BROTHER YOU ARE THE GREATEST...I bought the y harness off of ebay and I was about to cut the square part off and do just what you described . buying the adapter is so much cleaner....I could you but that would be awkward... If you come to spyder odysseys this year dinner is on me. deal.....

Okay here is the update on where I am at, I just got the last part to complete the install. the harness 710005823 was the last section of the harness, well I have a problem, there is no voltage coming out of any wires on the back end of the harness..what am I doing wrong. under the seat there are two plugs. the harness that I mentioned works with the plug on the right with is the larger male and female plugs. I went on YouTube and its the smaller plug on the left, but the Harness I have is for the larger one on the right....

How about posting pics of all the parts you have. That'll make it easier to figure out what's causing your problem. Thanks.

The 5823 harness is the Y harness. The two large connectors on it go into the same size connector, which you separate, in the bike harness under the seat. The squarish connector plugs into the module. The other end of the module plugs into the pig tail that goes to the hitch. Is that the way you're getting it put together? One of the six wires in the Y connector is battery power. You will see power at the exit of the module, of course, only when the signals are flashing or the brake is on.

Ill do some trouble shooting today, posting pics has been a pain in my rear so i have not been able to get that done. ill update later today. I installed the harness and i may have to remove all the covers again. some thing told me i should have waited to test every thing before putting the Tupperware back...

Did you check for a 10 amp fuse in the fuse box for the trailer circuit. The fuse location will be in your owners manual.

I did as much trouble shooting as I possible could do, No I did not know there was a trailer 10 amp fuse. Ill check that asap. I did have power from the lights on the RT after connecting all harnesses but nothing on the trailer. oh and the lights where blinking very fast.....
