• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Newest mods-Wizard Lights and Graphics Kit

My husband installed my Magical Wizard Lights last night, and I love the outcome!
Also installed the Kewlmetal rear-view mirror extensions, and they make all the difference in the world. I can't help but wonder why Can Am didn't position the mirrors there to begin with.

Next weekend's mods will be the Autotrimdesign flame graphic kit 1, and a subwoofer for the audio system. and then I'm done for this year. really.

Looks like there's not much left to modify on your Spyder. Very nice.

It may be that BRP didn't really feel the need to move the mirrors because there's not realy too much of an issue with the stock handlebars. It appears your handlebars are aftermarket & may be the reason you're now needing the extensions. I recently installed the NMN 4" risers on my wife's Spyder & found that we now look at our hands and grips more than the traffic behind us. Ordered them yesterday.

That's probably true. I sat on my friend's Spyder with stock handlebars yesterday, and still saw mostly my hands. But she's taller than me. When I sat up as tall as I could, the view was better. Spyder designed by really tall guys? LOL

Not in CT

Very nice! And you're lucky too...

I was at a picnic yesterday and one of the guys there is an attorney. According to him, all of these lighting systems are illegal in Connecticut, and is an invitation for the LEOs to pull you over. :dontknow:

They're not street legal here or hardly any state. It's still fun to turn 'em on when parked, though.

Today I finished my graphics, using Flame Kit 1 from Auto Trim Design. The helpful folks there let me purchase some additional pieces that I could adapt for my fairing, side cases, and rear fender. Please check it out in my photo album and let me know how you like it?

It was fairly easy to do, I did the wet application method. Took about 5 hours, moving at a leisurely "it's a beautiful blue-skied 75 degree Sunday" pace.

Thank you!

Talking about "illegal items" on a Spyder running down the road?

So I see you have an "illegal" much louder than stock, non-cat equipped Hindle exhaust that your LEO's can hear coming long before they ever see your lights. Being "noise" is the number 1 complaint communities have against motorcycles. Seems strange you'd have one on your Spyder being so wound up about having "illegal items" you have to warn everybody about what might be illegal on their's?

Nobody has ever called their local Police at 3 am and said my neighbor's bike just went down my street with so many lights on it that it woke up my whole house! :roflblack::roflblack:
But I know those exhaust calls come in all the time. :agree:

So, my question to you is....

Are you removing your Hindle that clearly says "for off highway use only" from your Spyder? Or are you just trying to rain on other Spyder owners mods with the old "do as I say not as I do" mentality of pointing out what might not be "legal" on their Spyders while overlooking your own "illegal" items. :dontknow:

What I really love is how your lawyer friend remembers to warn you about lights, but says nothing about the $500 fine there is in CT for loud non-EPA pipes? That a LEO can use your loud pipes as a reason to pull you over anytime he want's to too.

Sorry to come down so hard on you about this...

But, if I had a dollar for everytime somebody with "illegal items on their bikes" (like your illegal Hindle) who always seem to forget about their "illegal mods" as they throw stones at accent lights, I'd be retired. :lecturef_smilie:
