• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Roadster Renovations....poof!

While I don't like to get in the middle of such things. I find this statement to be a bit of lack of class. Considering all the events that Doc has gone through this year, it is (IMO) a lack of class to post publicly an issue between Doc and Lamont. His invoice was not paid for whatever reason, and all that was needed to say was a generic explanation given such as he ended his advertisement. The way you state this is rude, and I sure hope Lamont did not approve this statement.

:agree: wholeheartedly nojoke

There have been enough posts from which one could logically conclude that **some** people don't like the changes. "Some" doesn't mean "all." That makes 2dogs' statement true. And even if it wasn't true -- it didn't warrant ridicule.

Sometimes this place is a tough crowd.

Yes it does seem that Anthony tidied up the vendors list. Not on a basis or bias towards one dealer or vendor specifically, but rather as a group. In simple terms, he merely updated the vendors shown based on if they were currently up to date on their advertising invoice.

While we here may have known about, followed, and supported Doc / Roadster Renovations during the recent hard times, consider that possibly Anthony, the current website tech guy, may not have read about what happened. Saying that, not to make Anthony sound cold and uncaring, he was merely making adjustments based on the info presented to him.

Anthony did not single out one vendor to remove and I highly doubt he offered charity to others.

Shifting subject a bit. Many here understand that Spyderlovers was in need of a software update. The previous version was deemed obsolete and was slated to be rendered inactive. This would have in simple terms shutdown Spyderlovers website as a whole.

Anthony has stepped in to assist Lamont with this. So many of you ignorantly keep trying to kill the messenger that is keeping your beloved go to website alive. Rather than thank him for his efforts, some of you shred his actions, many of which were needed to keep the lights on. Sorting out the vendors of which are currently paid in full for advertising vs those that are not does not represent bias. Actually, the opposite, consider if you were a paying vendor, paid up in full, then found out other vendors, for whatever reason were getting free advertising, soon the intentions of advertising on SL fails.

Did Anthony make other changes to the website? Yes, some he was forced into by the new software, and others he made based on his experience working with these type of websites. We should all consider too, Lamont may be reviewing what he sees, understands the why behind the changes, and approves as needed.

Myself, at first a few changes caught me off guard, but none have been so intense to pull the rug out from under my feet.

I am sorry to see Doc and Roadster Renovations not currently listed on Spyderlovers. With hope, I would enjoy his return as a supporting vendor. Consider too, in a similar way that Anthony has helped Lamont keep Spyderlovers website going during a difficult time. Those members wanting to see Roadster Renovations repositioned onto the home page might group the funds to help the guy that has helped many of you.

Lamont, and the team at Lamonster Garage, and Anthony thank you all for keeping the entire Spyderlovers website alive.

Many of you are not on or have no interest in the Spyderlovers Facebook Group. If the changes here are that bothersome, consider that maybe the FB will be less stress for you. The format is quite different.

Things that are rude to some are reality for others...

As I am sure most of you know this site does not run without money. I recently decided that I would no longer have a web presence (which was just for fun anyways) because hosting prices had risen so much. As for the FB site, it is just that a FB site without much meat and also without the drama that is on here quite a bit. EX.. "I don't usually get in the middle of these..." Then don't.

Things change... C'est La Vie... I have been here for some time and rarely post... but without this site there would have been a bunch of things that I needed help with that I have not seen anywhere else.

Let's all just pull back a bit, and remember that Doc has had a nightmarish 2018... If he chooses to not advertise in here: I support his deicision, and wish him the best.

We ALL should do the same: Merry Christmas!

whatever squabbles we have in here, are really over nothing that is important anyway...

1st of all it wasn't pointed @ Doc, as Doc's name isnt in that generalized statement.

Ill quote myself:

If they dont pay their invoice, Lamont pulls their advertising.

I didnt say him, her or doc in that statement.

"An opinion that is nonsense".

As nonsensical as it may seem Anthony, it's still happening.

You talking about site changes vs's advertisers not paying their invoices & their ads being removed from the site by Lamont, so yes your statement about this thread is nonsense because it has nothing to do with what was asked here.

Not really, as this post is asking about an advertisers banner that is no longer on the site.

No i didnt.

If they dont pay, LAMONT removes them.

I did get an advertiser back that didnt pay & they are now in the rotating spot & front page.

I also got an advertiser to support the garage to help try & fill it up with members rides. That advertiser also is giving a big discount on top of their already advertised specials, that can get you up to 25% off, but 99% of the members posting here havent even attempted to add a ride.

Wrap My Spyder has a banner at the top of every page on the site... along with Lamonster Garage and various other vendors. Also, Motorcycle Dave is there as well. I did notice that Don't eat the mud was no longer there... http://www.spyderflap.com/naked-mudflaps.html

Correct, Pete has been an awesome help to the site & is sponsoring the Garage as well as opted into purchasing the original static spot i created, the left was a rotating spot as well as the middle & right that still are rotating.

Again if they didnt pay their invoice, Lamont pulled their banner for advertising.

All good. I was not aware Lamont had re-engaged so I was expecting it was you and done for proper reasons. No ill intent.

I took no ill intent from your post PMK.

Its not that he re-engaged, he is the sole person that takes care of the advertisers & the money that is paid to advertise on the site.

I've never been a part of that PMK.

I did create the advertising page, that was done to kinda automate it & make it easier for them to contact Lamont about advertising on the site.
