Sadly Passed Oct 2024 - RIP
Hi again ...well I survived day three, with only a couple of falls :gaah:, and no injuries so far :yes: ….. On my first two foray's into my new endeavor I decided to use my old 175's ( Rossi's with a little side shape ), I didn't care if they got a bit bruised ( and they did :lecturef_smilie
they worked but not like I was used to..... So today I put on my new Elan's with a severe Side Cut ( parabolic shape ) ...Well OMG these things turn by themselves :yikes:....so much so I discovered they will actually turn and go UP-HILL , if I don't get off the edges......These ski's also have VERY very slippery bottom's …. I can glide much further - faster than on the Rossi's. This may sound like a good think , but it's much harder to control my speed ( which isn't my friend yet ) ….. I wasn't comfortable in the bumps, so I headed over to the Groomed trails ...:yes::yes: Much better ….. I was able to take more runs today than yesterday ….. I'm very glad I began getting my legs in shape a month ago ( repetitious stair climbing ) , but I should have started two or three months ago. Sking can be very tuff on the legs, using muscles that only get a work-out from sking …. live and learn...……...more to follow ………. Mike
