• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

putting a bigger tire and penske shocks on

True, Scotty. But even if sampling rate (I assume you mean time between pulses and not the derivative of the count), I'd wager that they integrate quite a few (yes there is induced lag)... but at 60mph, they're seeing what, ~20 rpm at the wheel so around 1200 pulses per second? If they don't count pulses per unit time (or at least integrate rate for some time), then a missed pulse or two due to noise would create havoc. Assuming this, then a purposeful missed pulse in the train (depending on the integration rate) should be 'lost in the noise'. Integrating or averaging, say, 30 to a 100 measured rates would only induce a 25ms to 75ms delay... likely acceptable IMO.

Agreed that this is indeed playing with safety systems. But with a reasonable approach, much could be learned without putting safety at stake. ANd if the computer is going to balk at the information, I would expect to see the symptoms early.

Obviously, custom sensor disks is the way to go, but the tooth cutting MAY work, and would be an interesting step towards the end.

And Firefly - putting on a larger rear tire (as this thread started) IS essentially changing the gearing.

I also need another belt if someone has one on the way. I have had a clean hole in it since 6k ( have 16k now) and I would like to be able to have one just in case. the dealer I got my spyder from needed to order one so it would not get here in time.

I have the brand new original BRP belt (going to take it with me in Gatlinburg due to last year experience - see "Spyder Killer" ) so PM me the address. Don't forget the rematch on 1/8 mile in Florida!

message sent, thanks a ton,

Tested the shocks to deal they are great but I need to stiffen them up more, the vss was engaging in corners that I was coming out of at 104ish on the way down to a MAA fight my buddy was in I was coming out them at 93ish.

Had to switch to the stock tire so i could test the shocks.

Thanks for all the tire TCS ideas but I will have to run the stock tire this year out there.
