• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

LED headlight failure

After a 2000+ mile trip through the south west------ one of the LED headlight bulbs is out. I'll pull the plastic off and check connections. Then the light bulb if necessary.

Has this happened to any one else ( one bulb ( LED ) dead with in a few months of install)????????

If so----- did the supplier replace it????

Thanks in advance,

Lew L

Yes, that happened to me last September at NoCal Spyder Rally. It was a TricLED and Squared Away replaced it for me no charge, even though I had not bought it through them originally. Subsequently, there was a thread about this and apparently it's fairly common. Usually it's the left side bulb that fails but there was not enough of a pattern of failures to draw any conclusion from it.

Jane's Spyder also suffered a burnt-out LED bulb shortly after we bought it used. That was a different type and manufacturer of LED bulbs and I replaced both with TricLEDs and have experienced no more failures.

Yes Pete,
It was the left side bulb. Just no reason that it should be one side or the other????? I think it was Lamonster where I purchased the bulbs but I can't fine the paper work, yet.

Contacting Lamonster next.

PS: Lamonster now has the ball. Hope he can work something out.

Lamonster's have the 'black box' outside the headlight housing. TricLED's fits inside the housing.

Bummer.....

Only possiblity would be the lenght of the wires to the bulbs. One is usually closer to the harness and LED's are touchy...:yikes: Don't have them myself but my halogen's Left side have gone out after every long trip..:dontknow:

Yeah, there have been all kinds of theories, but nothing definitive.

Oh c'mon, it's obvious..... that's the side of our mouths we all stick our tongues outta while we are concentrating!! So of course that's the side the light blows on.... more drool on the connections! :joke:

We got your email and Jacob sent you a reply. We do not and have never sold a LED headlight with the fan built in so it wasn't bought through us. We have replace quite a few bad ones. Our headlights come with a factory warranty of two years. I think we've replaced maybe four in the years we've been selling them. Give us a call.

I haven't found the paperwork yet. Must have been brand " T" I purchased from and I'll check. I wonder if the 4 you have replaced were the "left" side headlight as discussed above??

Now we know it's the type with built-in fan, maybe someone here can identify it for you.

E-mail a picture to Cindy at Tricled and she will send a replacement pair.
I've had three go bad since September last year and had replacements to me in a few days the last ones are the new 360 degree leds.
Just last week I had the mirror mount turn signal led start to fail and I had a new set in about three days.

Well we've sold a couple of thousand of these and if it was a left side issue I'm sure we would have seen more than that.
