• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Ultimate seats....Canada verses United States??

Wrongway

I've edited out all of my comments on this subject because I've had a day to think about it and ranting doesn't change anything.
Ultimate seats builds a quality product which is obvious by the reviews on this and other sites.
They also give you 14 days of riding to change you mind which is more than reasonable.

Dealing with Ultimate seats seems to be very different for those living in the United States verses Canada and other countries.

Sorry to have to make this post but something doesn't seem right to me.

SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT HERE IN CANADA

If this appears to be a rant, I suppose it is but OMG, something just doesn't seem right to me.

i agree with all that you have said, other than it isn't just Ultimate. It's MOST manufacturers. I ordered a back trunk rack from a Canadian supplier. They said it was in stock. I got notification that it was shipped.....I checked on the web and it indicated it was in transit.........I received it 2 1/2 months later.

so much for dealing in Canada.

my rant.....why don't I feel better?

I bought my Ultimate seat 2 years ago and really like it.One thing if you buy it in Canada you,ll pay in Canadian money if you buy in the USA you pay much more as our dollar still sucks.It.s not hard to install.

So here's why I'm obviously irritated...
1. On the Ultimate website if I pick up the seat at the Daytona store they will install the seat and ship my old seat to my home (in the United States I suspect) at no charge.
SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT HERE IN CANADA.
2. From what I've been told which I'll admit is heresay, I can go to an event that Ultimate is at and they'll install a seat on my Spyder so that I can try it. If I buy it they'll ship my old seat to my home (you know where) at no charge.

You are purchasing the seat directly from the factory not unlike anyone in the U.S. that did not go to Daytona or is at an event they are attending. Those orders would not include installation, they are a 'mail order'.

As pointed out above the obvious advantage for us (Canadians) is you pay in $CAD, a considerable savings when purchasing a $700+ item.

I chose to pick up my ST seat directly from the factory as I live only 30 minutes away but I found the Ultimate Seats after-sales support excellent. I received my invoice and paid receipt immediately by email. I was given a production date and then when the seat was ready an email indicating it was ready for pick-up. Also when I arrived I got a tour of the factory and was able to speak with the production manager.

Canadians get shafted

OK heres my horror story. Wanted a bike barn which is made in BC Canada. I live in BC Canada close to the manufacture.

I ordered the Bike barn paid with a Canadian credit card. To my error their web site says all payments will be in US dollars.

I ended up paying almost $200.00 more dollars after the conversion. So yes made in Canada and delivering to Canada will cost

you big bucks. I have yet to put the bike barn up. Enjoy Bob

I've edited my rant

After a day to think it over and after reading and thinking about all of your responses, I've severely edited my original post and removed anything negative.
I'm satisfied with the deal that has been made and both of us are looking forward to getting our new Ultimate seat.

Thanks to those of you who responded. I appreciate it a lot.

Sincerely
Greg

:D I'm glad to hear that your blood pressure numbers are subsiding... :2thumbs:
...And I can't wait to hear how seat #3 performs for you!

It'll be interesting because our with our 2 previous ultimate seats, 1 was on a Honda and we both loved it and one was on a Yamaha and we both hated it and returned it.
Time will tell.

I would have sent it back and told them what they could do with it.If our dollar was close I would be ok but with the difference it is as of now and it's made in Canada I,ll pay in Canadian funds or they keep it.
