• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Indians new reverse trike!

I'm not impressed with the styling overall either. These converted bikes all suffer from the same front end awkwardness. I would also suspect they suffer from a bike that handles/rides OK but since the total design wasn't engineered as a unit then OK is about as good as its going to get. In order to fully design and stylize a reverse trike it needs to be done as a complete unit. For example.. on this particular bike the engine and tranny need to be pushed forward quite a bit allowing the nose to be shorter and the seat to be longer. (my opinion anyway)

There are some things I like about it.
  • It has real handlebars
  • The mechanicals (engine, tranny, suspension) are out in full view (not hidden behind layers of plastic)
  • Its got a "bare bones" feel to it

All that said. I don't think the RT or the F3 would win any beauty contest themselves.

If anyone can build a reverse trike that is a direct competitor to the Sypder its Polaris. Doesn't matter if they sell it under the Indian name or the Polaris name. They have the ability and probably the most "guts" to actually do it. I wish they would. BRP is only going to bring better products when it has a competitor to push them.

Indian trike

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I kind of like the steam-punk look of it , kind of retro looking.

Fugly! The proportions are all wrong. Tiny panniers, huge nose with a giant cowl, fender skirts that are accompanied by modern chrome wheels. I like steam punk just fine, but this is like a parody of steam punk, with a little Donk thrown in.

A couple of you caught that this was a build in a contest on doing something with the Scout. The builder of this one is from Wayne N. J.

I have to say that I kind of like it. It's a start for all of us who have wanted a reverse trike from a major builder. If, and when it happens, it is going to be interesting.

To late for this guy who still owns two Spyders and one two wheeler.:yes:

None of these bike to trike conversions appeal to me. They all look like some "hack job" done in Frankenstein's garage over beers. Spyders OTOH look so much more integrated, like somebody actually gave a thought to balancing the front and rear styling.

Couldn't agree more. I've gotta think that a purpose built frame and suspension is going to handle better than a front suspension grafted onto an existing two wheel frame. That said, I'm glad to see a major manufacturer experimenting with a reverse trike.
