After Homecoming wife and I are riding through Maine ares for a few days. Has anyone found a one to two gallon gas can that we can put in the 622 trailer and not worry about spills or odors ?

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I carry a 750 ml Sauza Tequila bottle ( it's rectangular in shape so it fits nicely ) full of gas. Not only doesn't it leak it doesn't even smell at the cap...... They make liquor bottles to carry alcohol which is ( like gas ) much thinner than water etc. , so the seals they use are much better, also won't degrade ( at least mine hasn't after 4 yrs ). Now 750ml will only get me about 13 miles +/- , but that's all I'll ever need. You would need bigger bottles and at least two ....... And Yes I know they are glass .....thank you ........ I carry a liter metal fuel container. There are several companies that make them. Never an issue with leaks or smells and will get me to the next station or help a stranded biker. Never had to use it cause I plan my stops well. US highway are good about warning you of distances to the next fuel stop on backroads and freeways have fuel stops most everywhere. It has helped others and only a liter (almost a qt) can get you to the next station and if a moped cross country..:roflblack:

+1 on the Rotopax. Flat and leak proof and you can gei one or 2 gallon. They also make them for water.

Fulepax fits like a glove in the 622
The 3.5 gallon Fuelpax, see link below, fits almost like it was designed for that little cavity at the rear of the 622 trailer between the two tail light assemblies. I couldn't believe how well it sits in there. I added a tiny little hold down for mine, but you could make something real simply with a bungee cord to hold it in place.

Hmmmm. I live in Maine during the summer and ride throughout the state but have never been so far into the woods that I couldn't find a service station when I needed one. Where do you plan on riding if I might ask?

I might be out in left field here but,,, what I do when riding in an area where I'm really not sure where the next gas station is, I have a small air tight cooler that I keep for fuel only. I can put two 1 gal plastic cans (red gas cans) but before putting them in the trailer I add ice cubes in the cooler with them. This prevents expansion of the gas. I've been doing this from day one and I've never had any leakage or smell whatsoever. Works for me!!!

If you're towing a trailer, you're not getting the same range with a tank of fuel; than if you're not... :dontknow:

I won't trust Reda after I had one leak and cause a mess. Turns out they had a run of 'bad' caps. To me this was unacceptable. The whole reason for spending the $$ on their special tank was because it specifically would not leak or smell.
I only every ran out of gas once on my GS on a trip to the Grand Canyon.
Not an issue with the F3.

Bob, you spend more than that on bacon every week.
It is a product you don't want to have to use but is there of you need it, won't explode of you crash, and doesn't need to be rotated out and refilled every couple of months. Pricy but worth out in my book.

pps: Well: you got me there! I use a number of aluminum water bottles. I have about 10 and adjust the number I take depending on how far I am going. When I am just out for a ride I only take 1. I get them on sale as cheap as I can. I started using those MSR fuel bottles but I can get a dozen water bottles for about the same price as one MSR.

I agree with Firefly I had a Reda and it not only stunk up my saddlebag but you get a gas bath when you use it. I haven't carried gas since early 2013 and I've never run out. You should look at your Route and get a feel for where gas will be available. There may be areas where you have to gas up at half a tank because you're going into an isolated area and the next fuel may be beyond your range. Use Google maps and do the aerial view of towns and you can see if they have fuel available.
