• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So who has lights in their storage compartments that come on when the lid is opened? If so, whatchya usin'? Are they on a switch, or are you turning them on?

I don't have them yet... But I'm going to add some battery-powered LEDs.
They're readily available, and pretty cheap"

factory frunk light sucks! ..Added strip led lights to the frunk and turns on and off when I close my Frunk. I used the frunk light circuit for power to the leds

Here are the lights I have in the trunk. I got them Superbright LEDs. I ran a wire from the wire feeding the auxiliary power outlet up along the hinge into the space between the trunk lid and inner panel. They are mounted on the trunk lid and switched with a small mercury switch I got from a local electronics shop. They do a super job of lighting the entire trunk all the way to the bottom. I used the same LEDs, one set each, in the saddlebags. They're switched with a magnetic reed switch usually used for alarm systems.

In the frunk I glued an LED strip with side emitting LEDs to the plastic trim at the top of the frunk liner. They're connected to the wires going to the factory frunk light and light up the frunk super good, all the way to the bottom. I don't remember what glue I used but it's a special one for gluing silicone.

I bought the trunk light from Spyderpops. Installs with sticky backing and plugs into outlet in trunk. Super bright, nothing can hide from me in the trunk.

THIS WORKS

I bought a movable 20 LED lite about the size of a cigarette pack ..... also has a triple direction LED's with a magnet and a hook about $3.00 on E-bay or $6.00 at every truck stop on the interstate.......Use it where you need it lasts forever on 3 batteries .... because it moves if you want to see something out of the Spyder ............. try that with FIXED in the frunk/trunk/side bags LED's .......... I just use a Tourch app on my iphone to see what's in my trunk or funk
The good thing is the tourch also has an emergency SOS function and other apps on the iPhone gives me a camera, GPS Weather reports etc
The phone is always with me so for breakdowns etc I am covered
If the battery gets low I just charge it up using power outlets on the Spyder

Truck lights

I bought a cheap set of LED lights, a relay and a single poll double throw switch. I placed the switch next to the power receptacle in the truck. I tapped the power from the tail lights to activate the relay. I wired one side of the switch and one side of the relay to the constant power from the power receptacle. The other side of the switch to the relayed power. I connected the center terminal of the switch to the power receptacle and the set of LED light that ran all the round the trunk under the lip. This gives me ignition switch control over the powered receptacle for my Bluetooth reliever for the stereo. It also gives me ability to turn on the LED lights to find something in the truck or power the receptacle to charge my cell phone, helmet communicator etc. without leaving the bike on. When the power receptacle is on so are the LEDs, but the LEDs don't draw much power.
